While Tempering for veta koyumb , Chana dal can also be used, For Palak Koot ,v can fry Grated cocunut, Uld dal & Green/ Redchillis ,& Jeera in coconut oil and cool & grind .it will enhance the taste. Use coconut oil for seasoning
Gitaji! Kuzhambhu or kootu vadams were superb. I made the same combo today.But without the vadams n the black chana. I am very much interested to make the vatha kuzhambhu with the kondakadalai.

It depend s on the keerti, for palak it is good , methi will become bitter , for others you can just mash with churner
