Stunning looking car with blistering performance for it's size and with the added benefit of electric only mode
The only downside is that the price creeps into the higher rate vehicle tax, which I think is an utter waste of money
I've been looking at the all new 2024 CHR Hybrid HEV or Plugin PHEV as an option to change out of my Rav due to not wanting to pay the increased tax charge

The tax band is definitely annoying, especially as they haven’t raised it in a several years, so cars that weren’t intended to be taxed at the high rate now are.
I’ve been looking at the Subaru Outback as well as the RAV4, I ruled it out because of the higher fuel consumption and considerably higher emissions. But because it’s just under the £40k it is much less to tax than the RAV4.
It makes no sense, they should be taxing vehicles based on the fuel efficiency and emissions, not how much they cost to buy.
I hadn't thought of that. The reason I bought my current RAV4 four years ago, was the price at £39,995 meant low tax, but the similar spec Rav now is £48k and as you say it's still a £40k threshold, so it's very annoying
@@daPalma And even on the Design model if you want the AWD it’s over the £40k threshold. It definitely needs looking at.
I just don't know the use of creating a GR sport when the Prime already exist & does 0 - 60 in 5.5 seconds. Toyota could have provided all new specs to that Prime. I'm the proud owner of a Toyota Adventure Hybrid & I get everything I need from it. The Prime is fast & furious enough, thus, we don't want a racing SUV, we just want modernity with luxurious interior, more leg rooms, more cargo room, better infotainment, some edition coming with grey/black exterior mat paint same as BMW, new body style, longer wheel base, etc.
The Prime is the US market, the UK market doesn't have the prime, there's only two specs available at the moment. Design spec, which is low end with cloth seats etc or the GR Sport
An all colour coded variant would be a great option! There was a black edition RAV4 a few years ago in the UK which was all colour coded black and it looked awesome 👍🏼
The GR Sport is effectively the Prime in the European market. USA/Canada get different, and more, options because their RAV4 is built is Canada. European RAV4s are built in Japan and we get fewer options, hybrid and plug-in hybrid only.
