Nature Boy. And back in the 50's and 60's, most government revenue came from corporate taxes. As that level has continued to drop, it's now the middle classes footing most of the bill. The Republicans are bent not only on maintaining this trend, but on dramatically speeding it up.
Maybe we have the highest corporate tax rate, and the highest corporate welfare - we spend literally ten times as much taxpayer money on corporate welfare as we do on individual/family welfare, and it's a system far more likely to be abused or gamed.

Even the corporate tax point is false if you take into account tax collected rather than just the headline rate (which is enormously compromised by crazy loophole deductions).

You forgot to mention we don't even have the highest corporate tax rate. The nominal tax, which is one of the highest, is just what it is on paper. Our *effective* corporate tax rate is one of the lowest in the developed world
That's the reason the corporate tax is so high; with all the loopholes big businesses can jump through, it'd have to be a high number for them to pay any taxes at all.
If you think any multinational corporation pays that tax rate you're not terribly discerning and definitely gulible af.

Mary Sharkey this. My grandparents always watch fox when they visit. I love them, but when my mom starts talking to them it becomes strange. Fox is honestly like a brainwashing program. Granted this doesn't mean they are horrible people, just horribly misinformed, because some small pieces of truth get mixed in. I'm tempted to watch as an outsider looking in, just so I can see what they are seeing so I can build a counter argument, but I have other things to work on in life. Look, I'm an independent. All the Democrats in my life think I'm a Republican and all the Republicans in my life think I'm a Democrat. Why? Because I really try to undo the dehumanization that both parties often have for one another. I try to be sensible and calm. When Trump was first elected, I was upset and shocked; BUT I decided to keep a vigilant, yet positive, attitude. In simple words: I tried to keep an open mind.
I don't hate Trump. Just from observing him, it seems highly likely that he is mentally unwell. Just as I can't hate a schizophrenic person from hearing voices, I can't hate Trump for lacking insight. With that said, I personally think that he is a grave danger to the American people and the rest of the world.
I don't want him shamed, I don't want him hated, but I *do* want him out. Pence would certainly not be my first choice for president, but *at least* we'd have some form of competency (especially when dealing with other countries.)

The key to getting facts about the statement is that you follow up with a question that is effectively the same, but not related to a given human. In this case, asking “Why would anyone repeat a statement that is both untrue, and not what they mean?” would’ve been effective. Measure twice. Cut once.

There's a difference between the stated corporate tax rate of 35% and the effective tax rate (what they actually pay) is actually around 15%.
