  • Why people fail in interviews || Why You're Unsuccessful in Job Interviews.
Have you ever analyzed why someone fails in interview? Everyone tries his or her level best to crack the interview. People are very alert and careful while attending interviews. Inspite of this, sometimes they fail. What makes them to fail in job interviews? What are the silly mistakes that can be avoided to get success in interview?
The first mistake the people commit is arriving too late to the interview spot. This gives some sort of irresponsible impression about the candidate to the recruiters. Hence, always make sure that you are little earlier or atleast on time to the interview spot. If you are on time, you will enjoy the breath and do self motivation. If you are always late, then you must change your scheduling practices.
    Dressing inappropriately
Candidate’s physical appearance and personal hygiene, are having huge impact on job interview. Your dressing sense exhibits your understanding about the position, to which interview is conducted. Correct dressing will also give a professional look to your personality. So, take atmost care in selecting a proper dress code for the interview. Use professional dress code, polish your shoes and use a mild perfume. Even rash body perfumes smell funky that, will distract the interviewers attention from your answers.
    Too long or incomplete CV
Sometimes your CV can be a problem for job search. Most of the candidates write their CV that is either too short to understand and too long that demands so much of time to read. If this type of CV is presented to the interviewers during interview, simply they will ignore. The chances of getting selected in interview are less. Hence, you spend time in writing the CV which is something you are proud of but in a short and sweet manner. Emphasize on important points while simply touching unimportant ones.
    Having bad manners
During interview, recruiters are keen to absorb the candidates having positive attitudes. But some ugly behavior of the candidate, makes them to feel that, this guy is not fit for their organization. Few candidates fail to switch off their mobile phone, and exactly it will ring during interview process. Few may chew bubble gum, etc. Avoid these types of bad manners, and fix your posture, be polite and pleasant, so that you can maximize your chances of getting the job.
Not knowing anything about the company
Another major reason for failure in job interview is, poor understanding about the company, and position for which interview is conducted. Based on the job profile, recruiter’s expectation will vary. Hence, do some research about the company, and job profile such as, how company functions? what are the lines of their business? what is the job description? and required skills for that position.
    Taking it too personally
In order to test your ability to handle pressure, recruiter will ask you tricky questions. Sometimes they make you feel uncomfortable to check your reactions. In these situations, don’t lose your control and be calm. Hence, if the recruiter is too aggressive and making you uncomfortable, don’t take it as personal.
    Too nervous / over-confident
Sometimes candidates may become too nervous during interview process. Remember, this nervousness will drastically reduce your ability in answering the questions. Hence don’t be too nervous, try to control yourself. On the other hand, few candidates may be over-confident. Since they have required qualification and experience, they may feel that they can easily crack the interview. Recruiters may quickly reject the candidate because of their arrogance.
    Checking the time
Checking the time during interview process automatically reflects that, you are anxious of leaving the interview room. They may also perceive that, the candidate is having another interview on the same day. When the recruiters notice this, they simply let you go, and they will not call back. Sometimes interviews can go on longer than expected. In that situation also, don’t check the time.
    Yawning
During interview process, candidate should be fresh, assertive and should not look like bored. This makes recruiters to perceive that, candidate lacks in interest. Yawning also gives off the impression that, this interview is not worth your time.
    Handshake
And finally, Non-verbal communication like good handshake, and good body language, are key to success in interviews. Make sure you do it with confidence, not too strong but not too weak. Moreover, always have a smiling face to attract the recruiters.
