  • This is my second video on the Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK console/audio interface. In this video I’ll be giving you two workarounds for solving the issue with the headphone output not being independent of the master fader. It’s something I knew before buying the console so I was ready. Now, you can be, too!!!
    Like, share and please subscribe to my channel if you like what I’m doing.
    Greetings from Greece!!!

    There's actually 3 other proper ways by using Aux 1, Aux 2, Aux 3..the rows of green and blue knobs most people overlook, those allow you to acheive individual mixes pre or post fader. So you could for instance; have an aux mix for headphones, control room, and tracking. In your scenario I would setup a headphone mix on Aux 1 then put a speaker mix on Aux 2, tracking mix Aux 3. Aux ports output a line level signal similiar to a headphone jack on smartphones. You could then plug a cable into the aux jack that feeds your studio monitors and control volume via Aux knob (standard on most mixers), also the master fader has no affect on aux output. So the main headphone jack is exactly what it is...a way to monitor your OVERALL master signal. I own the 22 MTK and it has a whopping 5 Aux outputs!

      Hi there! I also own the 22MTK. Been having a lot of fun with it, as it's a new adventure learning about mixing through a board. I have a question about using the AUXs. Are they mono outputs? I inserted a pair of headphones to AUX1, to monitor as you described in your above statement, but I'm only getting sound out of the left side. I realize this is probably a very basic question but I figured I'd throw it out there. I also checked the other AUXs and it's the same scenario. Thanks!

      Hello Dear Friend! It's just called the "Mackie Big Knob Passive". There is also an active version of this which is called the "Mackie Big Knob Studio". The additional features were not important to me, but you can check them out. Thank you for watching and commenting. Greetings from Greece! Good luck with your recordings!

    Amigo puedes hacer un video donde muestras como configurar la consola.
    Necesita un drivers para que la compitadora la reconoce?

      Hello! If I understand good, for MAC OS you don’t need any drivers. I think that the drivers for windows are on the site. It shouldn’t be difficult to install and use it. I was using the Notepad 12fx when I was on a pc and there were no problems at all. Thank you for watching. Greetings from Greece!

    Thank you useful info! I am looking for a multitrack interface right now and feeling overwhelmed 😅. Can this send each channel separately to a DAW? Does it have fx? Are the FX carried over to the DAW? Does it have compression? Sorry for all the questions! I am looking for a mixer for myself to play with 4 other people that we can record live into a DAW.

    • @PetrosAntoniouMusic
      @PetrosAntoniouMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello dear friend! First of all, thank you for watching my video. The soundcraft signature MTK 12 can send each channel separately to the DAW. The channels are send to the daw before the eq and the fx. But, together with the separate channels, you can send also to the DAW a stereo track which is the stereo master out of the console with eq, fx and everything. So, you’ve got all your channels separately plus a stereo channel which you can bring in and out of the final mix as much as you want. No, it doesn’t have compression. Feel free to ask whatever else you want. Somebody helped me in the past, I’m helping you and you’re gonna help somebody else. This is how it goes!
      P.S.: of course, while you record, you can listen in your headphones your voice or instrument WITH FX if you like and these fx are not recorded in the separate channels. Only in the master out. Greetings from Greece!

      And also, make sure that you buy the MTK model (the black one). ONLY THIS ONE HAS THE MULTITRACK (SEPARATE CHANNEL) ABILITY.

    i've had the soundcraft signature 12 mtk 2 years. about 3 weeks ago output stopped working. after spending hours trouble shooting, i was at a loss. as a workaround, i got out an interface to connect to monitors, earphone and computer. on the computer sound preferences, input is from the soundcraft, output goes through the interface, because for some mysterious reason, i can't get output from the soundcraft. i read the manual and so on and am stumped.

    • @PetrosAntoniouMusic

      @@PetrosAntoniouMusic finally solved the problem. it was due to my difficulty focusing on the computer screen and seeing things up close, eyes fading with age. the problem started as i was dusting the mixer. my clumsy fingers must have bumped the wrong buttons and turned a few dials. now that it's set all up again, i'll be extremely careful to not alter any of the settings.
      i'm very happy with the soundcraft, being able to plug in multiple instruments and record them on separate tracks into ableton live

    What is the difference between sig12 & sig12 mtk?

    • @PetrosAntoniouMusic
      @PetrosAntoniouMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching the video and for your question. Both of the mixers can be used as audio interfaces. In this use, the simple model (non mtk-multitrack) sends to the computer only the stereo mix of all the channels. On the other hand, the mtk (multitrack) model sends each channel independently to the computer. So, you can record each instrument on a different audio track on your daw and then mix them as you like. No differences for live use.

    • @PetrosAntoniouMusic
      @PetrosAntoniouMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello dear friend. Thank you for watching and commenting. There are two ways to do this. One is through the AUX outputs-->FX UNIT->new channel and the other is through the group 1-2 and back to a new channel. I hope I’m clear enough. If not, ask me to explain more detailed.
