- My first true gravel race is in the books! Low Gap, the opening stage of the Grasshopper Adventure Series, tested me in ways I didn’t expect. 🚵♂️ The course was absolutely beautiful, winding through Ukiah’s rugged backroads, but it was no walk in the park.
The aid stations were lifesavers-seriously, the snacks and support kept me going when my legs were screaming. I hit the wall hard on the second big climb up Low Gap Road, completely bonking as the steep switchbacks took their toll. Gravel racing is humbling, but even in the pain cave, I found moments to smile.
While I didn’t perform as well as I hoped, this race wasn’t just about results-it was about the adventure, the incredible cycling community, and learning to push through the tough moments. Relive the highs, the lows, and the snacks with me in this video. Hit subscribe for more gravel adventures! 🌄✨
