    I am SO excited, potentially going next year February as an exchange student, hearing about the cheap vegetarian shop on campus (as I am vegan) made my eyes light up! AND for so CHEAP! AAAAH

      Hi Kata! I'm so glad to hear that you are going on exchange to NTU this fall :) Yes, there are lots of events to meet other exchange students. NTU hosts several events at the beginning of the semester for exchange students, so definitely go to those and also My Room Abroad is an organization dedicated to helping exchange students feel at home and they run lots of fun events at the beginning of each semester too so follow them on social media! Hope you have lots of fun :)

    How did you like taking the Chinese courses? My major Chinese language so I would have to do a year at the college.

    Hey! I'm super interested in Chinese classes at NTU too. Were they taught in traditional only? I only learned simplified Mandarin so I'm worried about being placed in level 1 because I never learned traditional.

      Yes, they were all taught in traditional but my Chinese teacher let us submit homework and write in simplified if that is what we were comfortable with. Hope this helps!

      @@lucasgagne9529 Hi Lucas! I was on exchange at NTU so my grades didn’t really count (all my courses were pass/fail), so I didn’t have to stress too hard for good grades which allowed me to travel a lot during my my semester.

      Classes are taught in traditional, but if you are more familiar with simplified, most of the Chinese teachers let you write in simplified for tests and stuff.

      Marie Zaimi I booked my room before arriving, but I would recommend visiting it in person first if possible, especially if you are signing a long lease.

    Heyyy! Fellow Canadian here as well, thinking about applying to NTU for the Winter Semester next year, I study Business Management as well. How did you find the off-campus housing? I might have to look into it, seems like on-campus housing is scarce as of now.

      Hey! I found mine through a family friend, but my other exchange friends who lived off campus found their places through My Room Abroad. Tbh, they are kinda overpriced so I suggest booking an airbnb or smth short term for the first week or two and looking for a place when you get there to get better and more affordable options.       @@AdultingwithAngela thank you for your answer! As two follow-up questions if you don't mind, how were the classes in general? I am in a Finance concentration so I will most likely take Finance courses. You said the teachers were knowledgeable, so that's re-assuring. Did the exchange students spend a lot of time with each other only or were there integration with local students in terms of social activities and such (I speak Mandarin) ? Thank you so much!!

I thought the core business classes were about the same level as my home university (McGill), except they were all pass/fail for me on exchange so I didn't study as hard. Exchange students do end up sticking together because of proximity, activities and classes, but there are some local students who do choose to take English classes as well.     hello! Wonderful learning about your experience. Why did you not get put into a dorm? I'm also a Canadian student looking to attend NTU for exchange, but on my school's program's site it mentions that housing was provided. Was this not an option for you?

      Hey! Dorms are provided :) I only didn’t get a dorm cuz I was supposed to go to Hong Kong but switched to NTU last minute. They actually had dorms available once I got there but I already signed my lease so I lived off campus. The shuiyuan prince house dorms are super nice!!

      @@paulamartyna4581 Hi Paula! I was originally supposed to study at CUHK in Hong Kong but because of the protests happening, it was cancelled by my university. Taiwan was such a great experience though, the prices there are INSANELY CHEAP like I ate my meals at the cafeteria for less than $2 USD for a GIANT MEAL. Rent is also super cheap and shopping and pretty much everything which is why I absolutely LOVE Taiwan :)

      Yes, they definitely offer an intensive Chinese language program. Sorry, I didn't take it so I don't have any details about it but I'm sure you can google it.

      I didn't live in the dorms, but my friends who did had a great time! Also the nightlife in Taipei is incredible especially for women and foreigners :) Hope you have fun!!

      Pretty much all business courses like finance, operations management and business statistics which are all under the college of management at NTU :)

    Hi! I'm thinking of doing my master's degree in Design at NTU, but I literally know no Chinese at all. I'm thinking of trying to teach myself some before I go there, but I'm worried my low level is going to be a problem. How have you experienced this? Are all classes completely in English? How is the level of English amongst the students and teachers?

      Hi Liz! Not all classes at NTU are taught in English, most are taught in Mandarin, so you'll have to see what English courses are offered. I studied business so there were lots of course options for me, but I'm not so sure about your program. For English classes, all my teachers and classmates were proficient in English, but some Taiwanese students in the English classes are understandably more shy and hesitant to speak in English. Hopefully this was helpful, I wish you all the best!

    how many courses do u recommend to take ?

      I took 5 courses (15 credits total) which was the standard for most exchange students. I only had classes from Tuesday to Thursday, so from Friday to Monday every week I was able to travel a lot during my exchange semester. Hope this helps :)

      millie weng I’m not sure about the acceptance rate, because I was nominated by my university which is a partner school of NTU. I didn’t apply separately as an independent study away.

      Yes! I did write midterm and final exams :) Not for all courses, but most of them!

    Hi Angela! Thank you for this awesome video! May I ask you what are the module codes that you have studied while in NTU?
    I saw this: "Restriction: within this department (including students taking minor and dual degree program),The upper limit of the number of NTU students: 60." for quite a few management modules on their website, do you know if this mean that it is not offered to exchange students?

      Hey Winnie! So sorry, I don't remember the codes but I took financial management, operations management, intermediate chinese and global market management. And no i don't think that that means it is not offered to exchange students. I think most classes are open to exchange students, the message is just a general limit of how many students can be in each class. Hope this helps!

    Can you please guide will it be acceptable
    What will be the procedure
    Because we still don't know when will China open its border so I'm thinking to move on anywhere who accepts transfer

      Its super fun!! So many clubs are free for foreigners or ladies, so I never paid a dollar for any nightclubs including unlimited drinks :)

    Are students required to wear a mask in class?

      It wasn't mandatory to wear masks in class when I was there, but I'm not sure if rules have changed. The only place masks were mandatory was on the MRT. Hope this helps!!

    I'm curious about the courses you take? Do you take courses related to your major when you are studying abroad as a university student, or do you take whatever courses you want?

      Hey Kate! I took business courses during my exchange because they were widely available and I'm an international business major. But for a lot of my friends who were studying something else and looking for more specific courses that were hard to find, they took lots of electives while on exchange. Hope this helps!

She was involved in a political movement, studying violin and playing the violin. A policeman murdered me and they did many horrible things to me. My mom is alive, she practices naturopathic medicine. They killed me at 27 my name was Jia. Do you know anything about any political or student movement?       For exchange students, I would say it's pretty light. Mostly just studying for midterms and finals, not much homework. At least for the general business classes that I took. Hope this. helps!!
