A tip from someone with 1k+ raid experience with low man clears and all the jazz. To make raids easier, is to find a way to make it simpler. Especially call outs for your team, you don't have to use community call outs. Remember all of our brains work different! 💜
As a big time raider and sherpa to literally hundreds of guardians, i have a couple of tips to anyone new to raiding. It can be overwhelming, but focus on staying alive, mechanics cannot be solved, adds cant be cleared and dps doesnt matter if youre dead 😄 Learn one thing at a time and the wipe screen will always clue you in to where things are going wrong. dont let people shame you for your loadout, try to put your best foot forward but if the best weapon you can bring is a Thunderlord. Use it. Especially in this era of overpowered guardians, surely some teammates can pick up the slack, and if they cant, well that says more about them than the new guy just trying to learn. Most importantly, have fun and try to make friends - thats the real Destiny raiding experience 😄
This is truth! I wish more ppl thought this way..... often time the newbie always gets yelled at or told wheat weapons to use & if you don't ppl allegedly there to help leave. It becomes overwhelming & sucks the enjoyment out of playing (or learning), even for me with 15 clears. Be helpful not harmful & patient. reneger what day one was like for you before you start yelling at a person learning (a trainee)
Funny enough a lot of veterans didn't even know how ammo finders worked until recently..... Lol, it was nearly pointless to have them if youre a person who dies a lot pre TFS (u must kill X amount of enemies before a brick would spawn, but the tally would reset to 0 kills upon death). THAT woulda been useful to know why sometimes ppl were spawning bricks non stop & other times it felt like finders weren't working (it def felt that way day one of warlord's ruin)
Lol i laughed at "don't be the ad clear guy".......i always get relegated to ad clear & tbh at first i thought maybe ppl thought i was too stupid to catch on or something (which i know isn't a constant fact).... but then it turned out that (due to my theory/build crafting) i am an Orb generating machine. Literally 1-2 per kill most times & no matter what roll i usually have the most kills (typically low dmg on boss mostly BC i am not always aware its a damage phase. I often have to ask for an announcement). Also I'm disabled with partial paralysis in my hands/extremities. So I at times feel like that plays a part & maybe ppl are being nice by relegating me to ad clear most times. EVEN when I'm the one teaching 😂
When you mentioned being clueless about a mechanic I immediately remembered my trouble with Golgoroth in Kings Fall. Omg, I totally could not understand what to do. It was the first and only time I could sense our clan captain losing his patience. I felt so bad. I finally got it. Shout out to MrPickles. Dude, you’re the best. He even helped me through several Grandmaster Nightfalls a couple seasons back.
2.5 minutes in & I'm already struck by some weird thing you said..... Why On easy would anybody roast you or talk shit if you don't have a clear for Salvation's Edge (or whatever the name) when it just released & is now one of the hardest longest raids? Bro, if you barely have RoN clears.... I'd def not expect you to have any or many for the newest one..... Be easy on yourself! Don't self deprecate for nobody!
honestly i think any raid is fine but what you should do is LEARN the raid not just ad clear every raid. once you learn a role in a raid its way easier to actually clear that raid whenever imo
I'd like mention pantheon is not a waste of time for new players. The adept weapons are great for new players. Kings fall Hand cannon ROF auto and trace are good. DST machine gun shotgun sniper hand cannon can get volt shot which is nice even though it's a 180. The red borders are great too this is assuming it still drops all that stuff. If not then it's useless other than being good practice for higher difficulty.
