I was also freaking out. 4 generations of kpop its crazy. They all look like a dynasty of fuck-u-up performers. I love the energy and power and i dont care if others think the lyrics of hte song are reductive, I will always stan powerful female form in kpop whether or not the story is about protecting whats yours from others (that includes a man)

Please consider checking out Taeyeon's discography, her musical diversity is one for the books.
You may start with her solo debut single "I" and work your way through her songs in a chronological order. I enjoyed how the legend slapped your face with their talents. The pink hair girl is Hyoyeon (THE dancing queen) from SNSD (Girls' Generation) and the silver hair girl with power vocal skills is Taeyeon from SNSD too (she is the ultimate vocalist in Kpop).

The real genius of this song is how well all those unique voices flowed together! - Can't wait for your Aespa reactions. Karina and Winter from Aespa were in this GOT lineup and were probably the most underutilised (which, them being rookies and the rest of the lineup being legends, is kinda to be expected). As far as the angles switching up like you mentioned; they have these super advanced looking cameras that are preplanned out to the choreography and it zips at a crazy fast speed. I believe the members also form the choreography after following the camera with their movements.

I would argue that Monster is their darkest song (tho actually even their bright songs are really dark 😅) but it's music style is more similar to this than any of their other songs as a group. I can't speak very much on it, as I'm just not that skilled - but in regards to camera movement, KPop can do some crazy stuff with their cameras haha. Just wait until you check out aespa's first song "Black Mamba". Kpop just has fantastic music videos in general. I hadn't seen this so was pleasantly surprised to see Winter and Karina from aespa on here! (I'm not familiar with the other groups, guess I'll discover them when you do =D )

Theory time, and I wonder what you think(as soon as I can afford it, I'm supporting you on Patreon; you will be the first person I do that for! I just love your reactions!!! And you're the first to really interact with me in a legit way. Being laid up with two blown discs makes that mean a lot): a lot of people remark on how the music in the background makes them feel unsettled and is kind of dark. And the song is a woman, by design, making another woman feel small and uncomfortable for hitting on, touching and having feelings for "her" man; he's apparently sick and tired of the "silly girl" every day.
Given this, wouldn't a producer then use not only the words, but the music, to aid in getting that across? Especially since quite a few of us don't speak Korean, but adore k-pop. We would get that uncomfortable feeling right off the bat. Then going and looking up the lyrics, if one was wont to analyze feelings and lyrics, you'd connect the two. Even if you weren't, I think deep down, it would make sense, no?
I'm an English major though so I always look up the translations after falling in love with, and learning(so I can sing along, because I took chorus and loved to sing before and after) the Korean language original first(and taught for 5 years and had my students analyze lyrics to songs because they are really poems set to music when you think about it,) and I took band and was in marching band. So I may be a bit more obsessed with the why of the music composition than most. Ok, I AM. I'm a dork. But I wear that name tag proudly, 🤣
There are definitely a few different vibes with the instrumental of this song, some aspects show dominance as in trying to tell the other girl to "f off" from her man, the bridge has a "seductive" nature to it with the warm vocals and tone. But the unsettling sounds you talk about definitely feel almost "scratchy" in a way, it almost sounds like they manipulated some sound design from Hitchcock's "Psycho", especially the shower scene soundtrack. It's definitely cool to look back at the song and see how many details were put into the audio mix so that even if you don't speak the language to understand the lyrics, you still feel those things on a subconscious level. And thank you so much, your support on YT alone means a ton so don't worry about anything else haha! and I hope you get better asap!
@@DGReacts thanks! Agreed with the dominance. I think that's the 808's and snares that do the best at that, and the high notes the girls hit, using their voices as instruments. I also think it's spot on for the bridge...I think that's Wendy that says that, but BoA who sings it....I definitely could be wrong....

New group Kep1er (from the show Girl Planet 999) released their debut song "Wa Da Da". Any group from an MNET surival show is going to be big, and they are certainly no exception. It is a fun song.
WJSN Chocome (One of the WJSN subunits) is coming back with another song on the 5th called "Super Yuppers". Based on their previous song and the teasers, I can tell you it is pretty different than what most current K-Pop songs sound like, and I'm not actually sure if you will like it or not, but I know it will probably easily be one of my favorites of 2022.
I'm definitely gonna keep an eye out, hope to check at least one of them!
