Yea unless you cosplay Ciel Phantomhive, then everything is just $$$$$$$$$$._. I make my own cosplay outfits and his outfits need so much fabric and lace, I cry every time

Chara Spazz well considering that Kurositsuji is set in the Victorian era and clothes were fairly extravagant back then. Though I understand your pain. My friend and I are doing Edward and Lizzy and I was lucky enough that mine only cost $80(I ended up using a cheaper fabric for the white pink since it seems lighter weight) but my friend's vest alone cost $60 because the only fabric she could find that was the same colour and proper material was really high quality

my mum is totally open for me and my sister to dress up at carneval (since there are no cons in Austria :/) but she wants us to go as cheap as possible.
My sister wanted to buy a 120€ Link costume but my mum was like "nope, we're gonna make it ourselves".
in the end it cost like 50€ I think.
I want to do a Katara costume for February. I think it isn't that hard and it's gonna be fun. My mum loves to help, not only with coatumes but with crafting in general so that's awesome :D

I am an all time goodwill cosplayer 99% of all my cosplays come from goodwill or thrift stores. I am planning on cosplaying Ahri from LOL for my 24th birthday and, wanted to actually make her costume instead of buying it. This video was an amazing way to help people save and budget. Keep up the awesome work. Also I love your bird.

I have a tip for making armour!
I cosplay Loki from the first Thor and I made my chest plate, arm braces, and helmet out of foam, modgepodge, hot glue, and gold paint (and you want to see my costume, there's a cosplay video on my channel I think)
It works perfectly and it's really really cheap!
It's also very light in weight but it can be a bit warm

doing lunar cultist so all i need is a blue hood, a white beak, a blue robe and like 3-4 yard long of gold yarn so not that much money
Trying to pick one character from hetalia is a nightmare.......
But what I ended up doing was picking a character I didn't have to sew very much for because I'm still a beginner cosplayer, so some of the main characters were out because I probable would have had to sew the uniforms. I ended up picking Denmark because all I needed was a red button up shirt with some red pants, a black tie, black boots, and a black trench coat which was the hardest thing to find. Also I didn't really take into account his hair, which is probable the second hardest hair to recreate from the show..... But hey, I'm not afraid of a challenge XD

WildFire i don't know and i probably won't find out any time soon. it's tempting though. :D Chances are if somebody really wanted to make a costume like that, they'd have to go as multiple country balls at once because one big one wouldn't fit through doors. even kinder egg cosplayers have it easier. ;P

I wanna cosplay a character from a book, but it's a real underrated book. No official art, almost no fanart...
Things I would do (if your young and don’t have a high budget), is use a reference picture, then get artsy. You could improvise the parts, like using gray socks for metallic legs, or using a headband and cardboard left from something you used for ears, it’s all in the costume and face. And, using old clothes you don’t want anymore to customize is even better.

L1berty 01 you can totally cosplay as a character of your own design. I have seen people cosplaying as their own made up character and hand out like flyers with the characters back-story and stuff I thought it was really creative.

wow. it totally depends on your working skill and time management. Keep in mind shipping times of online purchases and such. If i really wanted to I can crank out an entire costume in a week. While I've also been working on my Halo armor for 2 years now. i know this doesn't really answer much, but if you have the drive and the supplies you can do anything fairly quickly.

When i buy fabric i always get more than i need just in case. For my ruby rose i cant find any shoes like her boots so i already have some platform heels that are boot like so im going to put red laces in it and i have something similar the only differences are my heels go up to my ankle where as in the show it goes up to her knee and that my shoes are heels and heres are boots (she hates heels in the show so i kinda failed there) ruby quote when she was in heels "why do i have to wear these lady stilts"
I bought my first two cosplays,which was denmark and Chibi!Romano from hetalia.But I gradually came out of my comfort zone and started making my cosplays.I'm quite Proud of my Fire emblem:Genealogy of the Holy War - Seliph,Cosplay,and it fits amazingly and is really comfortable,and now I'm planning to cosplay Nahyuta from Ace Attorney 6,and making the entire cosplay! this helped me so much! thank you! :D

I've been wanting to get into cosplay for a while and I'm going to a small convention in a month and a half. I've been binge watching youtube videos about cosplaying. I was wondering if you think it is a good idea to cosplay a character, but redesign the costume in your own way. So, the costume won't look exactly like the canon design, but people will be able to tell what it is.
I'm planning on cosplaying as Harley Quinn, but I'm not allowed to wear anything too short so I'm gonna alter the costume :D go for it~!

Me: Heh..heh..ha...hahah..hahahahaha(insane laughter). I don’t live anywhere near a store (250 miles minimum) and shipping is a bit pricy. Plus you never know if you’re gonna get what you ship XD
Tbh as a general rule for myself, If I can't make at least 75% it out of stuff already in the house, I don't even consider cosplaying the character. That's how I keep spending to a minimum. I only buy shoes and maybe jewels (or other such small ebellishments) if I don't have it in my mountainous hoard of bits and bobs
What is this magic of a $85 costume? Most of my planning results in at least $150. But maybe I'm just not good at planning...

I'm off to London MCM this year, not done cosplay before, but I really wanted to do Sora from kingdom hearts. I can't afford to buy one and obviously to get one custom made for a woman is out of question. So I've decided to attempt to make one inspired by some fan art of a female sora. I'm taking quite a bit of creative license as a result, but I'm a little concerned about peoples reactions or some such since it wont be the actual costume... Also, I'm not sure about a wig, do you think I should get one, or just wear my normal pixie cut? It is shorter but my hair is the same colour as the characters'.

I broke my left wrist about 5-6 years ago and since then it has been swollen and I was wondering if you think a shorter glove or maybe a short fingerless glove (I can always paint nails) would work or if you can give me a better idea?!

typically its hard to say is a price is 'good' or not. 120 can be good depending on the quality you are looking for. for a mass produced cosplay thats a decent price, but for a custom made cosplay that is way too cheap and wont be good quality. you have to just use your best judgement and also read reviews of the store. sorry i cant give a definitive answer and hope this helps a little.
