It's hard to find good dark chocolate without the soy lecithin in it. I'm soy-free as everyone should be.

Thanks for answering questions and giving me peace of mind. I used to be a huge fan of milk chocolate but switched to dark after I started Keto. Now I eat 85% and I love it.
The problem with dark chocolate is that you can't find a bar without sugar in it, but the carbs were so low I bought them anyways.
I can't find Lilly's - you're not the first one to say it's the best. Here we have Baker's; it has pieces of unsweetened chocolate but it's harder to calculate how much you can have and it's only 70%. Great for recipes, though.
Thanks again for this video, Nicole

Thank you so much for this terrific information on chocolate, I love it! I have a question that perhaps you can address in a future episode or maybe you have already answered it... what gluten free grains can be be cooked in a pressure cooker to neutralize the lectins? I know you said oats and wheat and other grains containing gluten cannot be pressure cooked, but what about quinoa, buckwheat and other gf grains or seeds? Thanks for all your informative videos, they are so helpful!! I do have all your books btw, but I don't remember reading too much on the gf grains and pressure cooker.

Love your work Dr. Gundry, I have two friends now reading your books and following the Plant Paradox programme! I some questions: Q1. Do you think its necessary to "Activate" nuts and seeds by soaking then dehydrating them to remove the other anti-nutrients? Q2. Would the pectin in home-made apple sauce help with a leaky gut, as suggested by Dr. Tom O'Bryan as I like to use natural remedies, instead of taking L-glutamine supplement as I'm worried that on my low protein days that it could stimulated m-TOR? Many thanks & Big hugs!

Oh Halleluiah!!! Thanks Dr. Gundry for this. I have been searching for the best cocoa powder. I love "bitter water", enjoyed by the Aztecs (l think...). It is made of a cup of hot water, cocoa powder and ceyene pepper. It has no sweetening at all. I love it. I am on a tight budget and love Hersheys, but wasn't sure if it's the healthiest version. I can afford it and cannot afford the "organics"!!! The Hershey's has the "NonGMO Project Verified" label. I am so pleased and grateful...thanks for watching out for us!!!❤❤❤

I am having 1T of 100% Cacao powder (non GMO/Free Trade) in a strong shot of coffee. I use my spoon to float the powder and keep it from caking on the bottom of the cup and drink until all the powder is consumed. I also sometimes add a dash of clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and/or allspice. It’s wonderful and sugar free.

True. Five years ago I suffered 100.00% complete liver failure followed by right kidney, spleen and gall bladder. (Kidney 100% nearly on others) Iron less than half bottom of range, blood sugar less than 100. Dying in severe discomfort, Dr.'s did zero except cut hole in side to drain out 8liters of fluid per week. LLinda almost wanted to do surgery but said I would bleed to death. No treatments. No prescription to help but pain and diuretic. Alive because I changed diet away from theirs. I ate almost all fruits nuts raw vegetables with lots of Vitamin C. All dr.s left me. Point: You really can survive all this. Painful but if will to live is used its more important than advice. Apple seeds helped to stop all paracentisis. Raw berries too. Try it.

I make my own chocolate treat by mixing cocoa powder, coconut oil and honey with a couple dashes of salt.
I realize DrG doesn’t recommend honey but it’s what’s in the cupboard till I run out and try some monk fruit(?). I’ve never had it so don’t know if it’s a fluid or powdered substance??
Anyway homemade is much less expensive and you can make a single tablespoon or a gigantic batch. It’s nice to dip walnuts in and freeze for a hot day treat 🤗

Hi mr Gundry. I find it interesting that you recommend eating chocolate. Theobromine and caffeine is known to be these particular plants method of defending themselves against predators. It is spoken of as a natural incecticide for this reason. Isn't this exactly what you say about lectins in other foods? And what would the long term implications be if theobromine and caffeine has a similar effect on the human body?

Dr. Gundry, I am a 71 years old male with BPH for more than 30 years. I'd been medicated with avodart but it only has aliviated the symptoms a bit. Nonetheless, cutting the lectins from my diet I'd got a lot better, in such a level that I eliminated the medication. My prostate is much less inflamated and I am able to urinate as in my ancient times. Is it possible that lectins were the origin of my problem?

Technically it is the foundation that makes chocolate that is helpful not chocolate itself. As we've known for years now milk chocolate can make chronic pain worse and up inflammation. However the base cacao can help greatly with chronic conditions and inflammation. I'm specifying because some that do not know will automatically use your standard 'chocolate' from the store based on your title instead of doing the research and actually listening to the information offered.

They are absolutely delicious. Also they are organic. No GMOs, no soy, no crap! Also they sell dark chocolate chips which I heard are delicious but I haven’t tried them yet myself. They are a bit more expensive but honestly it’s worth it.

Thomas Edison predicted you😂 he said “The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition”
My wife has been following your program for about two years now and has improved tremendously. We’ve been together for five years now and she has always been more sensitive to food than I was but didn’t realize that the food was making her sick. She’s struggled with obesity for a long time so I think she thought it was due to that. She was 334 pounds when she started reading the plant paradox, she’s an extremely smart woman who was able to make the correlations and make sense of what you were saying right away, especially due to her sensitivities. She is 227 pounds today, I’m so happy for her, it’s amazing. I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart😊 me however have been going from eating healthy to not so much, I’m definitely not eating like I used to though and am trying to stick with 100%healthy eating as I do feel much better. In the last few months, I’ve lost about 30pounds, I went from about 190 pounds to 157 pounds. I have noticed that I’ve developed sensitivities since starting to cut things from my diet like rashes.
    I have two questions:
1- I suffer from anxiety and depression, is this diet a cure for those? Because I’m sick of taking drugs for it.
2- I don’t actually take doctor prescribed drugs as I refuse to and am able to manage it so my second question is, how do you feel about Cannabis? Oil, not smoking it as that is what I take. It’s infused mct oil, is Cannabis dangerous to consume and does it contain lectins?

I was eating dark chocolate everyday to help with sugar cravings but I kept having stomach issue. When I stopped eating the chocolate the pain went away. Do you have any explanation for this?

People keep saying dark chocolate may be to bitter. I believe it's more of an acquired taste. At first I didn't like it, now I love it. I eat 90% cacao.

I would like to ask you, what's your opinion on raw cacao nibs and beans? Are they healthier than dark chocolate?

Thanks for posting...just so happens that I was just eating some chocolate while watching your video. I did have a question about figs. I see a photo of a fig on your book yet they have more fructose than just about any other food. Are figs recommended and if so is it ok to eat dried figs or only fresh?.

What was the chocolate bar you had in this video? I actually enjoy a 91% chocolate that is a heart supplement as well, called Choconuvo. I have to order it.

blended each day: a glass of water, three fresh garlic pieces, a piece of fresh ginger, a piece of turmeric, a half of fresh lemon. You will clean the blood vessels.
Raw cocoa every day because it relaxes the blood vessels and antioxidants protect the internal artery , magnesium in an absorbable form, e.g. magnesium citrate. A lot of movement, omega 3 fat (e.g., walnuts, flax), no trans fat in the diet, no redundant fatty tissue, often a smile and your heart will be happy.
