Never seen this Japanese Military Band before and have to say I'm very impressed with everything, such as the drill and the marching, with the actual music being excellent.

This brought back a high school memory - my high school band played at the 1970 Osaka World's Fair; leading the nightly parade the first week of the fair - Elmira District Secondary School. Elmira, Ontario, Canada. I played tuba. We were treated extremely well in 1970. I continued music for 37 years in a Canadian army reserve band. I agree with another comment that this band memorized their marching music! Wow!.
The mountain where I chased a rabbit The river where we fished for kobuna I still recall it like a dream. An unforgettable hometown I wonder if my father and mother are well. I wonder if my friends are safe. Whenever the rain or wind blows I remember my hometown If I fulfilled my dreams, if I fulfilled my ambitions I want to go home someday To the home of blue mountains To the hometown of clear water
Fantastic video as usual! Great to see the JASDF featured on your Spiffing Channel! The missing marches/pieces that I can name are, 1) 3:30-Cobalt Sky march 2) 7:02-Balmy Breeze in the Sky 3) 10:05-Oh Vrenelli (not 100% sure on this one!)😂
90% of the time it is just me (one person) who films these videos. However, on this trip to Switzerland I fortunately was travelling with a friend so they were able to film from some other angles and I could edit together.
JASDF are specialized for air defence & never intended to deploy foreigh soils but today the situation has changed a lot & even our domestic forces have to go outside of Japan proper.
Sorry about this! It was my first time visiting the town that morning and there was no prior public plan of the parade so I was having to react to what went on in real time and in a new place to me! Personally I thought some of the editing was fantastic where the camera changes angles without missing any of the music where I’ve joined clips during repeats etc. Thanks for your feedback and I’m sorry I was unable to do a better job at the time!
The band is crucial to international relations. Having the ability to send a band overseas to international events to be seen by the world boosts the impression of Japan and the quality of the military by seeing an impressive and professional musical organisation.
Military are not, they are representing the self defence force which stands globally as an international example of defence professionalism. You are unable get any civilian organisation to march and play with such precision on a world stage enhancing defence diplomacy. Please do read into the use of military music and diplomacy around the world and you will see the need for Japan to have an equivalency within its self defence force. These orchestras are highly respected around the world for their duty!! The various bands of the JSDF also complete very valued work training other countries defence musical organisations such as Guinea. Opposites such as this strengthens Japan’s great global relations!

音楽隊は音楽隊という職種なので航空機には乗れません(´・ω・｀)
主に音楽隊の皆様は「広報」の役割を担っています！
航空機に乗れる職種はやはり大人気である「パイロット」、戦闘機や輸送機等それぞれの部隊の航空機を運用し防空を始めとする各種航空作戦等の任務を遂行します！

音楽隊に税金を払って鼓笛隊をさせるのなら、民間の演者に委託した方がもっと上手に演奏出来ると思うんだけど。
