I always think about how Voldemort would have been fine if he didn't think he needed magic to kill an infant... And even after losing his body for doing it he still used magic to try to kill him the second time, as if Harry was protected from a non-magic weapon. Voldemort lost because he was incredibly stupid...
Harry might be even more stupid, because he decided never to kill the Death Eaters he faced, and later they came back and killed people, as he should have known they would. Many deaths could have been avoided if he understood that in a war you need to kill your enemies. Especially in a rare war where the side you are fighting against is very clearly evil.
imagine Harry actually exists, but he is just a normal boy whose parents were killed in a car accident. Now she has to take care of 2 kids while Vernon goes off to Hogwarts...
I think Petunia would be furious, she was so jealous of her sister because Lilly was magical and she wasn't and now, her husband, the most non-magical person she thought she knew is a straight up wizard! She'd probably think the universe has it out for her.
Honestly, the concept of someone who hates magic ending up growing into saving and protecting that world from its greatest threat is a very heartwarming concept, actually. I'd read/watch a whole AU like this.
Oops your Hogwarts letter has apparently been lost for several decades… owl post office… didn’t have a good system back then… well… it was our first A-B testing, trial and error, ufff.. apologies. And trust my word, the ministry IS quite determined to take any action necessary to protect its integrity. Yes, Im afraid you don’t have a choice. Welcome to Hogwarts, my friend.
Heck, the idea that he was a wizard but never discovered it until his late adult years is fascinating alone. I would watch the heck out of Vernon reluctantly be given a tour of the wizarding world. XD
0:53 I love that the implication that Harry is still a character but Vernon is the protagonist. Although it also made Vernon scolding Voldemort strangely heartwarming.
I love the implication that the school (or maybe just Dumbledore) didn't care that Vernon was as old as the teachers, he's being thrown in with the first years. No private tutoring or special seating, dude is learning magic with the kids. Also Harry showing up at one point implies he's still there so Vernon has to go to class with him. lol
This works way too well! He displays a high range of emotions and expressiveness. Richard Griffiths (sadly missed) was one of those very English character actors that fitted into whimsical, historical & wholesome shows. Imagine, the most muggle of muggles unwillingly became Hogwarts oldest 1st year admission, and ends up saving the day haphazardly by thinking outside the “wizarding” box. A fish out of water story.
Unlike Harry, who embraces it all, he vehemently rejects magic. I could imagine Snape saying something along the lines of: "GET A GRIP DURSELY! You are rejecting magic all the while waving a stick and transforming animals into cups!"
"In my opinion, best day of the week. WHY is that, Dudley?""Because there's no dementors on Sundays." "Right you are, Harry. No dementors on Sundays. HA!".

When Uncle Vernon walked past the Nimbus 2000. 😂 Idk why, but the thought of Uncle Vernon walking down Diagon Alley like he is just on a normal Sunday stroll is hilarious to me.
I like to think he just strolled in and bought it like an adult instead of pining over it in the window, like Harry did (keep in mind that scene originally took place before Harry had his money). Vernon is even in the next scene as seeker, so it makes sense he would just get the best broom. He made the best drills before, and would recognize a good product
Him shooting Voldemort is the most comedic thing I have ever seen help- 😂😂 edit: oh ma gah this is the most amount of like I have ever had on a comment- thank youuuuu 😊😊
He's the only wizard that was able to make his favorite spoon into a wand. This allows him to continuously eat 24-7 while being ready for magic action.
And the funny thing is, that’s actually accurate since it’s said in the series that wizards can channel magic through almost anything if they try hard enough XD
I love the idea of a magical world where the protagonist isn't a pre-teen chosen by fate to save the world, but an out-of-shape middle-aged man who couldn't care less about magic and is the only person who thinks to shoot the main villain with a gun.
This world was definitely set after ww2 so they have decent rifles. it always bothered me that no-one bothered to use one. The final battle with voldemort would have been over so quick if they just stuck a sniper in one of the hogwarts towers lol
An absolute masterpiece. The scene cut off when he GRABS for the snitch and the book comes at him from the floor. The freaking shooing away dementors. I am HERE for this. 🤣
I love how Vernon uses a gun in the end. This is what if Vernon being 99% muggle but being 1% wizrd means he can see and do what wizards do minus being able to use magic. This is why we dont see Vernon casting a single spell. So he uses his ability of being a 99% muggle aka the ability to use a gun and other muggle knowledge to fight Voldemort.
