    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS SERGEANT NICOLE L. GEE IS NOW IN THE "ARMS OF THE ANGELS"
    A statement from Misty Fuoco (Nicole's sister) who is organizing this GO FUND ME fundraiser.
    www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-sa...
    I want to start by thanking anyone who is willing to share in advance for any contribution possible.
    Myself and my family are extremely devastated with the news of my sister passing.
    I can confidently speak for everyone who knew and loved my sister, Nicole Gee, that she was such a bright light to everyone she touched.
    Always focusing on positivity and motivating others to do their best.
    She was and always will be my greatest inspiration and motivation to be the best version on myself that I can be.
    I’ve always said she is the absolute light of my life and I would do anything for her, she was my first best friend, my partner in this crazy life, my absolute hero.
    There are no words that will express how much she will be missed.
    Her love for her husband and my brother in law, Jarod Gee, is unmatched.
    They had a bond like nothing I’ve ever seen and I’m so devastated that he has lost the love of his life.
    She was everything to Jarod, the bright sun to his life.
    They are both Marines and have dedicated themselves to serving this country.
    She gave the ultimate sacrifice.
    We will forever be changed and forever hurt with her absences but I know she wouldn’t have had it any other way, she absolutely loved the work she was doing in Afghanistan and was excited to tell me more about it once she was back home.
    Family was the most important priority in Nicole’s life, she took every opportunity she was given to see family during times she could take leave.
    She was a huge part of my family’s daily life, my 2 year old son would ask to FaceTime his “TT Coley” often and it’s hard to wrap my head around the having to explain why we aren’t able to call her anymore.
    I will be using any money raised to help family and friends with flight tickets, food, and other travel expenses so that we all have a chance to say our final goodbyes.
    She touched so many in her short 23 years of life and I want everyone who wants to be given the opportunity to see her one last time before she is put to rest.
    She will now be watching over us all.
    Thank you again for anyone who can help, please give an extra tight squeeze to your loved ones today.
    UPDATE
    by Misty Fuoco, Organizer
    I’d like to again thank everyone who has generously donated.
    We as a family have decided to donate all funds remaining after funeral costs to the service members who were injured from the bombings in Afghanistan. There were 18 injured, one of those was close to my sister.
    All my little cousin ever wanted to be was a United States Marine. When she was little, instead of dressing up as a fairy princess or some such, she would dress up in a miniature marine uniform. When she reached high school she maintained perfect grades and was able to graduate a few months early in an accelerated program. Her motivation? So she could enlist on her 18th birthday in February which is exactly what she did. She was a United States Marine for 13 years. Then one day she got a debilitating headache. It turned out to be a brain tumor and completely unrelated to her service. Some time after that she received an honorable discharge. She lingered for a few months but somehow managed to enjoy a more or less normal life for a while. Then one day, while out for a stroll, a little toddler ran out into the street in front of my cousin. A car was coming down the street at a high rate of speed. She jumped into the street to push the toddler to safety and into a patch of soft grass. But she could not save her own life and was hit and killed instantly. My cousin lived to be a Marine and died a Marine. I would say her behavior was typical Marine behavior. Natural born heroes everyone of them. My cousin was buried with full military honors and of course in her dress uniform. As a side note, the day before she was killed, she had been informed by her doctors that there was nothing else they could do for her. It turned out she had either days or weeks left to live. For some reason, this video reminded me of her though nearly as many showed up. She didn't die in the line of duty. But she did die in service to others while performing her human duty, again, typical marine behavior.
So I went to work in a factory making things the military can use. Missile parts, Humvee parts, stuff that goes into space. That's about as close as I could ever get myself. Not hero stuff. My Dad did hero stuff, so did my Granddad. So did my uncles and several cousins. Some of us just aren't suitable for the military but we are eternally grateful to those who are.
      I was a Sgt at 23 but when I was in women weren’t allowed in combat situations unless they were nurses. I was in at the beginning of 1975 a time the Army called VolAr (Volunteer Army) and only months before the fall of Saigon. The bad part of that time was you could make rank at a good pace. The bad part was jobs were limited and if you picked the wrong one or failed in your AIT (Army Individual Training) you were pretty much screwed. My hats off to the women who enlist in any of the services and even more so when they are injured and KIA.
      As the creator of this and the other 12 videos memorializing the 13 of our heroes who were killed and the 18 who were wounded during the TALIBAN suicide attack at the Kabul, Afghanistan airport on August 26, 2021 I can say I have never been more impressed by a gentleman from the Netherlands who took the time to write an email to me about this one video. His email content is below...
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      ...Dear Sir,
      I am writing in response about my comment on the video of USMC Sergeant Nicole L Gee laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
      My name is Andreas Sillen, I have been a customs and border protection officer in The Netherlands, The European Union for over 40 years.
      I got interested in the wars the United States got involved in because of 9/11/2001. Later on in the Waging of Gendered Wars of U.S. Military Women in Afghanistan and Iraq, and Women in the Global War on Terrorism (Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Inherent Resolve), and in addition to what came before Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
      I wrote the comment to continue their legacy and remembrance and their service for the United States Armed Forces for those women who have made it home safely and those who made the Ultimate Sacrifice. To my great appreciation you posted my comment.
      I want to thank you for the videos you edited so everyone can honor the men and women that made the Ultimate Sacrifice or were injured and they will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts of family and friends. This way the people can be reminded that these men and women risk their lives every time to protect and freedom is not self-evident and we will remember.
      I am deeply ashamed that we don't have in the Netherlands the patriotism like the American people (Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day). I would like to thank you with great respect and appreciation. No Hero of this 20 year long war will be ever forgotten for his dedication and commitment in the fight for a safer world and certainly not what happened in the last few days in the fall of Afghanistan.
      I did visit the United States several times in the past and it was my intention to do the same last year 2020 as this year 2021 with a visit to The Military Women’s Memorial honoring women’s contributions to the service of their nation   and Arlington National Cemetery but the world changed last year of COVID-19.
      Many thanks for your time and understanding. Thank you and God bless family and friends.
      Yours faithfully,
      Andreas G Sillen

    I stumbled upon this while drinking my morning coffee and contemplating my life.
    I am not a believer in a biblical God, but I am a believer in something larger than us.
    I am this 🇨🇦🇨🇦 yep a Canadian and I comment here because I have too.
    Over the years I have been involved with Canadian Soldiers and kind of indirectly, American Vets. I don't care what flag you serve under, if you stand for freedom, then even in my old age I stand with you in heart and mind. I have come to love the people who have signed a piece of paper and said, "I will stand for your freedom, I will protect your family and I will die to do that if needs be."
    Canadian Soldiers, American Soldiers, British, Anyone!!! Who fights. For the freedom and protection of the free world, you are all in my heart.
    I know every time one of you are gone I think, " There is another who will not be in this world with friends, loved ones, I will never have a chance to meet them, fish with them, listen to them with an unbiased ear.
    Yet I look around me today, yesterday and tomorrow and I wonder, are we doing our part? Are we holding the fort on our domestic front and caring for all of those that all military in the free world, stands to protect.
    Think long and hard about this. Our Military is made up of all colours, Races and creeds. They represent the best of us. Do we, are we, living up to them?
    Are we fighting hatred, racism, bigotry here at home so they can look and feel they have something to fight for and come back to? That is our job, that is what we do, here. We do not have to endure months or years of training to do this.
    We are people, like them we are brothers and sisters, we are parents, Aunts, Uncle's, Husband's, Wives, we have all got the same responsibility as our military have.
    Sure some of them are not of the best material, but racists are in the minority, bullies are in the minority, those who do crimes of all kinds are in the minority. We need to support our Soldiers here at home, so they can come back and feel pride for what they do.
    Stop this domestic BS going on right now. That is your job, my job, we do not sit back and let the military do their job while we sit at home bitching and whining about our lot in life.
    We do not sit on our asses whimpering about civil wars, separation, our sad lot in life.
    Like the Marines, the Canadian Infantry, the Navy, the Airforce, we extend our hands to each other, acknowledge the differences between us and find strength in those differences and love in those differences. We are not Republicans, Democrats, Liberals, NDP (Canadian) we are not the Labor Party, we are not foolish wastrels! We are people, just trying to have a life and in doing this we take the lives of good people like USMC Sargeant Nicole L. Gee and so many like her, we lay them to rest and thank them for their service. Then what? That is the question. Do we allow a few self indulgent fools with no consciences, to divide us in our thinking or do we remember that this place we live, in wondrous diversity, is made stronger when our hands and hearts are intertwined? It is something to consider.
    Rest in Peace Nicole, we got this. Love to you all from me.

    My Uncle served in the U.S.M.C. Another uncle and my dad served in the U.S.N. Dad was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese bombed the ships and the island. He was aboard the U.S.S. Vestal moored next to the U.S.S. Arizona when the Japanese flew over Pearl. And, Dad being in his mid-teens (lied to get in and join early) thought they were the Dutch people who wore the little wooden shoes until he saw the slits in their eyes as the kamikaze Japanese pilots deliberately flew their planes into our ships using our battleships as targets and so many died while doing so.
    He said that after the U.S.S. Vestal was hit, he had to jump ship and swim w/fire on top of the water from the oil leaking from our U.S. battleships at Battleship Row. Dad also fought in the Korean War and remained in the service for 20yrs prior to his retiring.
    One day, Dad confided in me that he had nightmares every night since the wars, of his Naval buddies' hands coming out of the water (Pacific) for him to save them. He lived with untreated p.t.s.d. and survivor's guilt from not dying along w/so many of Dad's shipmates/friends.
    My father never did fully mentally recover from the trauma he witnessed on December 7, 1941, and prior to his death confided that he had done "terrible things" referring to wartime.
    My Dad was forever changed by the wars he fought in and he never fully recovered from them and struggled to live with deep-seated mental and emotional and mental battle scar wounds up until his death on February 16, 2008. His coffin like Sergeant Gee's coffin was draped in the U.S. American flag. And every time I hear TAPS, I cry like a baby, it's a constant reminder of my Dad, and how he would become so emotional by hearing TAPS too. God Bless USMC Sergeant Nicole L. Gee, my father USN CPO Henry Ford, GMC, and all of our U.S. Veterans. God Bless the United States Of America.

      My dad was in WW2 also, his patoon was wiped out, he was a medic. He doesn't remember why he wasn't dead but woke up all his patoon was. He lived in hiding for over 2 months, using morphine so he wouldn't go to sleep, afraid of being captured. Near the end when America was coming through France, he was going to make one last stand and tried to attack a patoon of American soldiers. Thank God they didn't kill him, but he spent 2 years in a mental hospital. Even after coming home, the shell shock is what they called PTSD back then, he couldn't function.
      He was declared 100% mentally unstable by the US government. It was a hard life for the 7 of us. Never knowing
