Islam has a long and rich history in Bangladesh. Today, Islam is the dominant religion in the country, with around 90 per cent of the population following Islam. The country’s Islamic heritage is reflected in its art, architecture, and daily life. Contrary to popular belief, Islam as a religion was well-established in present-day Bangladesh long before the advent of Shāh Jalāl of Sylhet (d. 815 AH). As a matter of fact, Arab and Persian tradesmen had entered Chittagong as early as the 7th century CE. ancient coins dating back to the Abbasid caliphate confirm the presence of early Muslim traders in Bangladesh. These coins were discovered in Rajshahi and also in Comilla.

This is where they (uneducated Hindus) lack knowledge and logic. Even the pagan Arabs in Arabia, were reverts to Islam. Islam started with the first human, Adam (AS) and every human is born Muslim, but will follow the religion of their parents, until they are introduced to Islam or other ideology’s. A majority of Arabs were worshipping idols before Mohammed (SAW), introduced Islam to them again. Following monotheism, believing in the one ☝🏼 true GOD, which was previously taught to nations, through other prophets.
May it be converted or rooted, we're all one follower of Muhammad and worship to Allah the almighty one.
Actually East Bengal (modern day Bangladesh) was also a non hindu region before Islam and hindus were also minority at that time. They originally came from hindi belt regions that is why DNA of Bangladeshi Muslims and Bangladeshi Hindus are a bit different. Before Islam, East Bengal was majority buddhist and some animists also lived there.

It is very lucky that Bangladesh became a Muslim Islam country. What I noticed over there in Sylhet in Bangladesh was how Muslims were living side by side with other people from other religions, Hindu, Sikhs, Christian, Buddhists etc speaking the common Bangladeshi Sylheti language whilst in Sylhet, Bangladesh. However you do get good people and bad people in Bangladesh like all other countries around the world. One time I was in a internet cafe in Sylhet Bangladesh. I'm paying money to the shopkeeper to use a service and the shopkeeper being very rude to me saying you can't do this you can't do that it is slowing down the internet speed for my other customers. I paid the money and left never went there back again lost a customer. I only go to businesses and shopkeepers where I am valued as a customer and not a number and not being dictated too on how I use a service that I am paying for as a customer. Shameful disgraceful internet cafés in Bangladesh in Sylhet.
