Bihari boti and Bihari kebabs are very popular in Karachi, original recipe was introduced by immigrants from Delhi, and it came from Bihar, hence the name. I've eaten bihari kebabs made by bihari muslims, and they aren't very tasty or popular in india but that might be because the Pakistani bihari kebab has been modified.

All those arguing about Biriyani not being an Indian dish - list all the ingredients of a biriyani and see how many these are common among Mongols or Central Asians or even Turks where Mughals csme from? Or before partition how common was Karachi biriyani or Lahori biriyani?
I am a big fan of Pakistani food snd try to find the best Karahi restaurant in London or NY or wherever I go (in India we put capsicum in anything and call it karahi!)..but Biriyaji is as much Pakistani as Rosh and Sajji is Indian!
Yes many spice in biryani are from southern part of india and first time made in india I think under mughal rule in northern india

Interesting vlog, food is what brings people together . I am happy that Yahya sahib got to experience the Saudi/ Pakistani take on biryani. It would be unfair to claim biryani as an Indian dish. It is “Mughlai “ , that is true . But just as the Mughals brought the influence of their central Asian homeland to India and that morphed into the classical Indian Mughlai cuisine as we know it, so too has this cuisine evolved in Pakistan and now in places such as the Middle East ,US, Canada and Britain . This is our common heritage and we can all lay claim to it.
Biryani had their origins in India much before the Mughals came and settled. The Mughals cultured it, took it to a new level of perfection and then several local cuisines adopted the Biryani according to their fashion. Awadhi Biriyani is prevalent in Lucknow and Kolkata. I would advice you to read a book: 'A Culinary Journey for the Love of Biryani'.

Many Barwarchi families migrated to Pakistan and especially to Karachi. Biryani is a global food because people from India and Pakistan are settled abroad which has a lot more ethnic and country influence as well. Overall, a good presentation on the food.

Biryani is a Mughal dish.. it came to India from Afghanistan... It went through a lot of changes based on the localisation... Even the Mughals were invented in their route to the Indian sub-continent invasion in 1500 AD.... They made it for their Army to give a wholesome meal containing protein and carbohydrates... Bihari boti is because biharis migrated to Karachi and make bihari style kababs there. It is famous in Pakistan but not very well known in India
Eating Pakistani restaurant dishes for dinner is not wise. Khate waqt bada maza aaega. Phir saari raat heartburn aur acidity se jaagna padega 😞 ...dongon se tael undla hai har saalan mey aur mirch/garam masala dalne mey koi takalluf nahi hoti.

Sahi kahe aap Biryani was developed in Old Delhi and Lucknow region from there it came to Kolkata through Nawab Wajid Ali Shah where it came to Kolkata in a area called Metiabruz and bought his khansama to Kolkata and Potatoe used to be exotic that time as it was bought from Portuguese who introduced Potatoes in India.
