Before buy the sander for home, i should thik about the sand papers prices, because sometimes machine is cheaper but the other material, likd sand papers for this is expensive. So, can suggest me any machine that is not expensive and sand papers as well ?
Hi Lou, I need to sand some shelves and I like the random orbital sander for the reason that it may minimize scratches. But, how do I sand into corners? Also, should I plan on having to follow the electric sanding with manual sanding along the grain in order to obtain a proper finish?
Hi Michael,The best bet for sanding into corners is to use a hand sanding block - using the corners of the sanding lock, or by using a detailed sander such as the Black & Decker Mouse sander www.acehardware.com/departments/tools/power-tools/orbital-sanders/2410587 You cannot follow the grain very well with an orbital sander as the function of this sander tends to cross over the grain path consistently. If you are looking to stay with the grain - a finish sander / sheet sander would be the way to go. Hope that helps!
Hi There- Palm sanders will work for paint. A palm sander won’t remove the same amount of paint as a larger sander, but at the same time the sander won’t damage the surface under the paint as quickly. Best method with a palm sander: move the palm sander over the paint in long slow lines; move the sander with the grain of the wood. Hello Carlo. Some are powered by air and others electricity. Air sanders are perfect for stripping old paint and finishes from metal and smoothing out the rough areas. Unlike a chemical stripping agent, an air sander doesn't remove every layer from the metal which is helpful in detecting previous underlying bodywork.
