No there is not an oil filter on these Briggs opposed twin engines. All of them were this way no matter the horsepower. They use a splash type oil lubrication system so no filter is required as there is no oil pump. These engines were introduced in the 70s and were manufactured until 1999 when the EPA cracked down on emissions standards, causing engines to be mandated to go OHV instead of flathead. @David's R&R it does NOT as I looked everywhere for it and could not find one. I picked mine up for 50 bucks today and it's in grate shape. Just need to clean out the carb and see why the taillights don't work. Thanks for the input
