SENEGAL needs to sever ties with ECOWAS, join forces with BURKiNA FASO, MALi and NiGER, they also need Russia and China to keep France and the US iN check.

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Senegal would benefit greatly from Russia the same as Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali. The main thing is a military ally if they have the courage to break away from France. That is the strategy that the AES countries used and it is the only way Senegal can get freedom. Also, Russia is BRICS. So, they can benefit from trade with BRICS. Right now BRICS has over 70% global gdp. They would be dumb to look away from that. Eventually most countries will be either in BRICs or doing business with BRICS.

Senegal is NOT still a colony of France. The moment a country got its independence from its colonialiser it ceases to be a colony.
The issue I see with Senegal is that it does not have a vision with game plan and timeline strategy instead it is giving mixed messages which could be costly for it. I am sure there must be some educated people in Senegal with sound knowledge in international law, international affairs, geopolitics diplomacy thus, I do not understand why it is acting from both sides. Fare is erratic. He naively believes he can straddle the geopolitical landscape by pandering to French - EU interests on one hand & hedging with Russia & China on the other. Leaders in Africa & the Global South who tried it before paid a heavy price. Sonko's role as PM is limited to domestic issues. Foreign policy is the exclusive preserve of the Pres. Hence Sonko only undertakes public international relations activities as head of the party, not PM. This was the case when he met Jean Luc Melenchon a few months ago.
