With the hollow liproll you don't breathe while doing it.
With the basic liproll you control it with your tongue but the hollow you control it with your lip and jaw
So hollow your throat and move your jaw up and down while having presere inside your mouth until you get it!

Fun fact : You don't need to know the basic liproll to learn the inward liproll
Technically yes! They aren't dependant on each other
But the method to achieve inward liproll. You will still need to be able to oscillate your side lips. Which is much easier if you learn it the same way you learn basic liproll.

Dude this is seriously underrated, this is the best tutorial. I have been trying for weeks and finally got it within like 15 minutes after watching this (still not super great and can't do it every time, but I couldn't make the right noise at all before!) That advice about not letting your tongue be too close to your lips is great, and going both in and out too, I haven't seen anyone else teach it like that and it works!
what does it mean "not letting your tongue be too close to the lips"? i tried to do so but it seems to me that i`m not able to control my tongue movement properly while training the lip roll. and during my training sometimes when i try to do lip roll i can get reeps one's special sound or something like that. do they have similarities in terms of tech or smth?

Dude i dont even know if you read the comments anymore but i want to thank you as i got the basic and inward liprolls. Just to add to your amazing description when you pull the dimple face pull your opposite cheek ( oppisite from the lip roll side and pull it in slightly just to block the gap that forms between your teeth when you lower your jaw down. Thamk you again my son is gonna me mega impressed hes only 6 and love to beat box and now i can spend time to teach him how to lip roll so he can add that to his arsenal. Thank you again. Im not great but i love beatboxing and i dont care if anyone thinks im shit unless its someone i respect in the first place their opinion means nothing. I am a little star struck tbh because all of yoy pro beatboxers have been my go to for practise inspration and just generally learning and mostly for the entertainment. I’ve watched countless tutorials on just getting the basic lip roll and can’t seem to do it, I’m following the instructions but I’m probably doing something wrong, I just get a zipper noise everytime.

Its up to you! You can hollow your throat to add that vocalized effect. But the main concept behind this liproll is to make it as heavy and powerful as possible. This will take time to master

Allo. To be honest with you im not sure which ones i knew at this point but if i had to say new then it would be practising with hollow clicks and whistles and inward base which is taking a while but im in no rush. I just do it alot around the house and i still love it. I haven't mastered and sounds atm but it changes all the time you learn a sound think its sounds amazing as it is but sometimes u just hit something by accident or pick up a tip off of a beatbox video or tutorial. I hope i never master any sound as it always keeps me interested and it would be sad to think of the day when theres no new sounds left. A bit heavy sorru bout that. Do you beatbox yourself? @@poak5742 been on and off beatboxing for about 7 years. I have been working on calexy whistels, hollow liproll, and kindo liproll- I am decent at hollow liprolls, terrible at both kindo liproll and calexy whistel. Massive respect to you! ESH 💥

is your bottom or top lip supposed to flap when you do your inward liproll? Mine sounds find and so does my basic liproll, but it doesn't flap. It vibrates very fast but it doesn't like do full back and forth flap like a lot beatboxers do.
