But years back when it was summer and the kids were in the pool I filmed a video and there's a bunch of comments on it (the coleslaw one) that they can't hear me over the kids.

The risotto turns out really well in the Thermomix, it was one of the highlights of having one again, and then we got to a point where one jug isn't enough lol, though I have more than one jug, so I can make two in a row hehe. Akio is a character, he's snarly but super affectionate on his own terms, typical cat hehe

I think it was on your most recent blog that you were talking about other channels content. For me, the content is important, but equally so is the person blogging. I Watch you and a few others because I genuinely like you as a person. I find you to be down to earth, honest and kind. You are also incredibly talented in the kitchen and with your art. I stopped watching another one that is huge, mainly because as she became more and more successful she just flaunted the money she was earning on an outrageous vegetable garden that took landscapers months to build. Her simple one she had before it was so much nicer. Don’t worry about any mess in your yard, mines bad too, just focus on the animals,garden etc. most of us can look beyond anything else. Karen

50% humidity is amazing. We live in Wisconsin and our summer humidity is usually any where from 70-90%, and I hate it; I love the cold of winter, which luckily for me, has just started!
I use soaked dates in my energy balls and find they stay together better than the prunes . I also add chopped plain chocolate and they don't last long enough to freeze lol.

You know what is the most beautiful sounds in the world no matter where you're from or what language you speak? Kids laughing playing and having fun. Your kids are happy and playing in the background. Some people would give anything to hear that and it's comforting to hear it in the background of your videos. Now yes can it get annoying sure but your videos about real life and your kids being happy is your real life ❤❤❤ your doing a great job with your kids and your TH-cam channel. It is so nice to have a bedroom again! one day it will be a bit decorated lol, but having a bed and some fairy lights in a slightly private space was a big upgrade for us! :D

But basically it is just garlic in raw honey, and then you sit it on your bench and it starts bubbling and fermenting, the honey will thin out and you have this garlicy/tangy honey with this mild and sweet cloves that you can just eat straight out of the jar! Marinade....if it doesn't gel because of heat, or cooking time or lack of a sugar...its put to marinade status write that on the jar. We have a lot of these now in usa bottled. Like asian, bbq, terriaki, fruit types. Made to get after cooking the meats. High in flavor to marinate meats. Its all good. Later you will want that marinade for something and it will gel...lol

The kids were loud! As kids are, lol, and I didn't mind the sound of the fan at all. With a very small protein like chicken tenders I only cook them to 145*f. The guide of 165 to 175 for chicken is for bone in pieces. What can happen with tenders is that they will overcook even though your probe tells you it hasn't reached 165. Because it is such a small piece of protein once the tenders reach their set point (when it is done) it will stall and not increase in temperature any more because it is already done, there not being any more water in the piece to "cook out" anymore. I won't even cook boneless breasts to 165 any more they just get so dried out.
Hi Nyssa, I really enjoy your videos. You have inspired me to get a pressure canner, so I can preserve a few things we have an excess of. One of those things at the moment is beef. We recently put 2 of our steers in the freezer. So meat is not a problem. Creative ways to use it are. I noticed you have a new smoker. Could you please tell me what kind it is and is it worth the investment. I have put one on my christmas wish list this year. Mainly to cook the roasts on as I do have quite a few. Before I go, as this is getting a little long winded. Is your smoker a gas or pellet type. Any input will be greatfully accepted. Thank you for taking the time to include us on your journey .
The new smoker is a pit boss pro pellet smoker, prior to that I had a gas one that I used to the point that it died lol. I decided to go pellets, thinking that I'd get a better smoke flavour for a similar cost in the end run, as running gas/pellets are both a cost factor. I'm still learning, it has a much larger cavity than my last one and I think even though it is set to a temp it might not be reaching that all through the cavity, I'm going to have to do some testing to see what temp its really reaching kinda thing. But I do love having a smoker, I love to fill it up with heaps of things all at once and run it, get the best bang for buck out of the cost of running it and then divvy up and freeze that meat for so many uses! oh, and bacon, I love to cure and smoke my own bacon!

mayo is super simple, I think I have a whole video on it actually, but all it is is emulsifying eggs (or yolks only) with a little acid (a teaspoon of lemon juice or vinegar) a pinch of salt and any other flavours (a teaspoon of mustard is nice) with some oil, you want to really slowly add the oil initially so it can emulsify, and just keep blending while slowly drizzling the oil until it hits the consistency you want! th-cam.com/video/lDMdmX5MJZQ/w-d-xo.html
@ we use it for about 3/4 days, it has egg in it so you just have to take that into account in your choice of longevity, depends how fresh your eggs are and your comfort level
Hehe, I enforce showers, but mainly because I've got a couple of kids with eczema so they need to rinse the chlorine off :) But I think its habit too, rinse off and put clean clothes on before its inside/bedtime hehe :D

I personally don’t see the issue at all. I have a screeching banshee 1 year old that makes up for the noise of his brothers when they are at school. Last week of school for Adelaide. I do, though there are a few quirks to it. Things like this ‘fail’ because the custard didn’t freeze properly they had thick shakes instead lol! But in general I have loved it and we use it multiple times a week and it is super simple to use disregarding custard based, cream/water and the flavoured protein powder with a frozen banana and the kids are in heaven
I think so, yes, if I keep up with filling tubs, the kids use it every night, and we do all sorts of varieties of 'ice cream' some just frozen fruit with the coconut cream and a flavoured protein powder and they have 'healthy' ice cream in their little cones and they've had dessert. Some of the fancier ice creams are super fun too, when I'm feeling like the effort, custard based and mix ins and we'll prob do ice cream cookie sandwiches again in the next couple of weeks.
Bedroom wise, there are 4 now, The two girls share a room, D and I have one, the twins share and the other two boys share, the rest of the place is pretty open plan, very cluttered lol, its still not a lot of space for all of us, but with the extension it has made a massive difference :D

Hehe, I enforce showers, but mainly because I've got a couple of kids with eczema so they need to rinse the chlorine off :) But I think its habit too, rinse off and put clean clothes on before its inside/bedtime hehe :D

I enjoy background noise of kids enjoying themselves. I personally don’t see the issue at all.
I have a screeching banshee 1 year old that makes up for the noise of his brothers when they are at school. Last week of school for Adelaide.

I do, though there are a few quirks to it. Things like this ‘fail’ because the custard didn’t freeze properly they had thick shakes instead lol!
But in general I have loved it and we use it multiple times a week and it is super simple to use disregarding custard based, cream/water and the flavoured protein powder with a frozen banana and the kids are in heaven

I think so, yes, if I keep up with filling tubs, the kids use it every night, and we do all sorts of varieties of 'ice cream' some just frozen fruit with the coconut cream and a flavoured protein powder and they have 'healthy' ice cream in their little cones and they've had dessert.
Some of the fancier ice creams are super fun too, when I'm feeling like the effort, custard based and mix ins and we'll prob do ice cream cookie sandwiches again in the next couple of weeks.

Bedroom wise, there are 4 now, The two girls share a room, D and I have one, the twins share and the other two boys share, the rest of the place is pretty open plan, very cluttered lol, its still not a lot of space for all of us, but with the extension it has made a massive difference :D
@@OurSmallFootprintCluttered or not all the family are happy, I was one of 6 kids mum and dad and a house full of different friends and family❤ since dad died the whole family has disintegrated, make the most of happy times they fly past so quickly…
