I like the recent recording from a show at a small fairground which begins with Tim apologizing for having blown out the speakers so early in the show, but goes on to explain that it could be worse, like this one time early in their career when they were playing at an equally small fairground and Tim hit a low note and knocked out power to the entire fair. He explains that it was really the fault of the local electrician, because they were running all power lines to a single source. "So anyway, I hit a low note and stranded people on the ferris wheel."
I don’t know if he used that anecdote at multiple shows, but he definitely used it at the Gallia County fair in Ohio on 8/1/24. I was there. They had to cut the show very short because a big storm rolled in. 😔
A couple of years ago I went to one (of many) HF concerts. While walking around the town and browsing who comes jogging by....Adam Rupp!! We got stopped at the crosswalk and he was jogging in place going "hey how you doing" Major fangirl moment! Love these guys and can't wait to see them again
Geoff from Voice Play said during an interview with another reactor that he & Tim became good friends when they appeared on the same season of The Sing Off. He said he thinks Tim is actually the most talented vocalist he knows! He revealed that it was Tim who taught him how to hit & hold those sub lows without losing the sound of the note. I'd say that Geoff was a great student! 💖
2 of the funniest stories i´ve heard about Tims low notes 1. Tim and Austin talking about who´s getting the Set piece Austin says that a man in the front was so blown away by Adam´s drumsolo that his wife had to pull him dowm so Tim gives him the paper and says you got some good seats right next to the speakers you dont have a pacemaker and the guy says yes i do they all breaks down in laughter and Austin says maybe we should move you to some safe seats and Tim says i dont think our insurrence covers that 2. At his birthday bash he says that the best reaction to him hitting a really low note was when he dropped down and actually KNOCKED A LADYS TEETH OUT
I may be mistaken but that was the same birthday bash that he sang Josh Turner's Would You Go With Me and the feedback generated shock waves? Tim was really concerned for the lady sitting next to the sub-woofers, with whom he and Chris Chatham had a bit of banter with.. it was really funny! Edit: Found the link! th-cam.com/video/v6mIsC0FM9w/w-d-xo.html
You would really love it at a live concert when Tim hits those low notes. The floors, the seats and your whole body vibrates. That's not an exaggeration. Home Free had to start bringing their own sound equipment on tour because they couldn't count on the venues having the proper speakers to handle those low notes. Now they travel with a big bus pulling a large trailer accompanied by a huge truck for all their lighting and stage platforms. The colored light show, multi-level staging, and fog machine are a long way from that simple stage show in this fun video, but they are still fantastic down-to-earth guys.
Not the last time this happened. And Adam Rupp has also blown speakers during his drum solo. Gotta love these guys. I always love seeing Rob lose it. And now that you've seen this, you need to watch their latest version from the Crazier Life album.
This is a running theme when they do this in concert! It is hysterical! Been there when the floor shook and dust fell, rattling the ceiling tiles! OH, how fun!
This is so much fun! The fact that they can push through even though they are laughing their butts off is great! Makes me have to chuckle at how great Home Free are and how much fun they obviously have together! Thank you for the reaction DJ! I remember watching in the livestream and giggling with you...this was great then and still great now!
Adam Rupp has a single out!! The Rise of Robo Rhythmo, on Spotify and other streaming platforms. He sings, he beatboxes, and it’s all just brilliant. No video (yet) but definitely worth a listen.
During the quarantine, when he was at home, he admitted to using the weights a lot because he had the time then and it seems like he is maintaining his physique for the most part.
That was fun. thank you for your reaction. Sorry about all my laughter but I was having the best time. It's still my favorite concert out of all the ones I've been to.
It's not only Tim, Adam Rupp has done the same. Seeing them in concert, I found that Adam's bass is just a deep as Tim's. It's insane what these guys can do.
Tim, Adam Rupp, and Avi Kaplan have all blown out speakers. Geoff was asked if he has ever done that and (paraphrasing, I can't recall the quote) he teasingly said something like "No, we use GOOD speakers." Ouch, haha! The love-rivalry between acapella groups is awesome. However, speakers probably have nothing to do with it. My brother-in-law is a soundman for a local rock band, and he said that since they know just how low Tim sings, they'd have HELLA good subwoofers. When any bass singer hits those ungodly depths, the actual volume is super soft, and the soundman has to crank the subwoofer to MAX volume just so we can hear, then ease back as he rises in pitch and the frequencies get faster and louder. If this volume modification isn't timed right, suddenly the speaker is too loud for what it's built to handle. If you listen, that low growl is LOUD, shocking the crowd. It's meant to shake the earth, yet he doesn't blow the speaker at that low note, which my brother-in-law says proves they are really good speakers. It isn't until he's almost halfway up in his slide, once he picks up frequency and volume, then the speaker blows. So my brother-in-law says it's the volume, not the low frequency, and added, "They should fire their soundman and hire me" LOL! But let's face it. Tim is just too powerful for his own good. His voice is a force of nature! Also, agreed about the roadies. They don't get enough credit. The fact that they fixed it in about a minute was awesome.
Love the older videos. So much fun. I hadn’t heard the other song either. Love the Tim “moment”. He has lots of fun with the audience on this one and some other songs like Elvira. Loved your reaction!!! Priceless!
First time, but definitely not the last! Tim Foust's voice needs to be weaponized deliberately, considering the fact that he's done it more than once accidentally. Let's point that thing where it can do some good! Thanks so much for sharing that one, DJ. What fun!
Tim's done so at least twice & Adam Rupp's blown the system once. I remember an interview in which one of them said that venues are given specific technical specs for the sound system to try to prevent this. If you haven't seen the video "Tim Foust's vibrations" - it's jaw-dropping. BTW - Austin has a video now for "Hers Ain't Mine" (on his channel).😃😃
Isn't Tim just awesome? Glad you got to react to Your Man, but you should still check out the version from this year's Birthday Bash. There's also a great video from the bash featuring Tim's wife, Jenika, singing The Eye, by Brandy Carlisle. Stunning.
You should try to find the one where Tim split his pants...it's hilarious. Also there are several different ones of them doing Your Man that are really funny too.
Home Free has four or five videos of them doing Josh Turner's Your Man and they all have the guys reacting to Tim taking the high notes, with the first one titled Your Man (LIVE) in February 2014, and the latest one in June 2024 (with all the reddish tea light candles) being the mildest reactions. At the actual live shows is were we get the wilder reactions. The ones titled Home Free (Tim Foust) performs Your Man by Josh Turner and Home Free's Your Man - Crazy Life Tour are the ones I'm thinking about, the ones I think of as the "tag me" numbers. You'll get that when you see them.
Most likely he didn't blow a speaker but tripped the circuit breaker/blew a fuse on the amplifyer. They would just have to push a button or replace the fuse to get it back up.
Greetings from South Africa, DJ and followers, I just like to put something out there and you all can agree with me... Doesn't matter if Home Free does a live or pre recorded version, it doesnt have the sound effects like most live shows does, or am I misstaken?
Amazing! Tim is the eighth wonder of the world. On another note, Avi Kaplan knocked out the sound system in concert too. th-cam.com/video/eeHRokYRVms/w-d-xo.html
So bored with people fangirling over some low notes. Tim has a lovely baritone but his bass sounds like a bullfrog to me. And I'm not sure why people witter on about his range - isn't it more important what you do with your voice? Music is an art, not competitive sport.
If you look at the reaction DJ is having in this screengrab, you'll notice he is laughing because he didn't know when it would come. The shock and joy comes from that. The comment about power is not necessarily about how deep he can sing, and we know DJ loves when Tim sings high from the recent reaction to My Maria with Austin Brown. It is essentially just an opinion that the insanity of Tim's voice alone being what ruined the speakers is powerful.

Haven't catched that one - that's hilarious! 😅 - how can I find the recording? Love Tim's stories!
I don’t know if he used that anecdote at multiple shows, but he definitely used it at the Gallia County fair in Ohio on 8/1/24. I was there. They had to cut the show very short because a big storm rolled in. 😔
OMG! That's hilarious 😂! Unless, of course, you were at the very top of the ferris-wheel on a windy day. 🙄
Adam Rupp also blows a speaker at a show and Tim high-fives him.
Going to have to register their voices as destructive devices-lol

@@pennymaple1817 It´s the same story but the one i saw he ends by saying if you dont believe me you can ask this lady in the front it was her sister

My bones were still rattling a week later. 😂❤❤
I love watching these live videos when Tim hits those low dragon's breath notes. He is my favorite bass singer out there, with an incredible range.
Not the last time this happened. And Adam Rupp has also blown speakers during his drum solo. Gotta love these guys. I always love seeing Rob lose it. And now that you've seen this, you need to watch their latest version from the Crazier Life album.
All of them have incredible voices and a star beatboxer and they can all make every noise.Love them.
Boy, I hope you get to see them in concert too!! I've seen them twice, they are incredible!!
AKA "Oops" 😂 great live one ! Tim is always impressive, it's always a good time when the Boys are on scene ❤❤ thx DJ 😁
Never. Ever. Ever look away from a home free video. Ever 😂❤
So funny! Now you'll have to react to Adam Rupp blowing the speakers!

Tim was equal parts embarrassed and proud, I think.
It might have just tripped a breaker on the speakers.
Tim is a menace to speakers LOL!!
I love watching videos from their older shows. They’ve changed quite a bit, but they were great then, and even better now.
That was fun. thank you for your reaction. Sorry about all my laughter but I was having the best time. It's still my favorite concert out of all the ones I've been to.

Loved ❤ this reaction!!

You need to do the one when Austin forgets the words to colder weather
Tim: "Sing along if you know the words"
So, so funny!💜💜💜
They are a blast live! hopefully they will be back up by me again. I have gone to 3 concerts so far. So much fun!

Big Bada BOOYAH
I would love it if you reacted to 22 times Tim went subwoofer mod!!!
You should try to find the one where Tim split his pants...it's hilarious. Also there are several different ones of them doing Your Man that are really funny too.
I've seen them twice now. They are great. Although Austin is no longer in the group

There’s a similar video “22 times Tim Foust went subwoofer mode”, or something similar to that. If you love a good Tim low note, I highly recommend.
❤️
I really like the “Your Man” video from the recent Crazy(er) Life album. It’s played pretty straight, except for the crickets.
You already reacted to the studio version 4 months ago lol.
avi would blow speaks often that ptx started to bring their own speakers. i wonder if Geoff has blown speakers?
Considering Tim taught Geoff his "Dragon's Breath" Subharmonic Technique and Geoff actually uses said technique... it wouldn't surprise me.
Most likely he didn't blow a speaker but tripped the circuit breaker/blew a fuse on the amplifyer. They would just have to push a button or replace the fuse to get it back up.
Please get your mouth and the sound coordinated. I have seen this on a couple videos. It’s the intro where it happens.
Greetings from South Africa, DJ and followers, I just like to put something out there and you all can agree with me... Doesn't matter if Home Free does a live or pre recorded version, it doesnt have the sound effects like most live shows does, or am I misstaken?
You need to react to Valhalla by the Bass Gang ft. Big Brev #bassgangforever
It will be the next reaction on my channel :D
@@dj_410 I can't wait 👍🏻👍🏻
You have done recent song of Your Man..
Amazing! Tim is the eighth wonder of the world.

Best bullfrog I’ve ever heard. ❤️🐇
I will never be bored with it. I love listening to Tim’s low notes.
I agree that it’s what you do with your voice overall that matter, but throwing in a crazy low note, once in a while, in concert can be fun.
Patty, honey... we can ALWAYS count on you for a good dose of toxicity. You never fail us. You're just the definition of a good time.
