    • @Jaigarful
      @Jaigarful 3 ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Yeah. Different breeds of tomatos. Better quality canned tomatoes use different tomato breeds, typically ones with better flavor.
      Also tomato sauce is only bitter if its not cooked enough. Sugar is used as a shortcut typically, and the bitterness should have been mellowed out quite a bit from the sugars in the white wine.

    Adam Ragusea was clearly never going to win this, he’s a great home cook that knows a lot about how to teach cooking and make it nice and simple, but he doesn’t make extravagant meals. He makes stuff a novice home cook could make, not stuff that only a somewhat practiced chef can make that will end up being better. Also it’s a really old recipe and he’s improved a lot more recently. He’s the only one out out of all of these whos content I regularly watch though, because I love his content because he knows what he’s talking about and has informative scientific videos that are well researched because of his background in journalism.

    I can’t believe I’m about to defend a god damn Tasty video but.....
    When you heat treat basil, it releases way more flavour than when you garnish after cooking. I agree it would work better in the sauce, but I’d rather do it the Tasty way than garnishing fresh after cooking.
    Now, if you will excuse me, I need to take a shower to wash off the shame of defending Tasty.
