God bless you and your Company and your work! Thank you so much for giving Glory and Honor to Our God and Savior Jesus Christ 🙏❤️✝️I saw you while fact checking that kind of stairs while randomly reading a FB post All the Best from Tuscaloosa Alabama ❤️
Exactly. That's why I always recommend the Landing tread (the one flush with the upper floor) to be included and be the same shape as the rest of the treads. It makes coming down the stairs a breeze!
@TopTreadStairways great idea! I have a small cabin with a small loft. The stairs currently are in the wrong location so they need relocation..my issue has been finding a nice looking but compact staircase. I like this design just have to figure out what my dimensions need to be

Thanks for the compliments and suggestion. I love building stairs a lot more than editing video, so my camera misses a lot. But a lot more projects are coming up. Who knows, I might put together more build videos in the future.
You are welcome Brother! That horizontal iron rod serves as a space limiter to keep the riser opening less than 4 inches. Depending how an inspector interprets the code, he may require it.
I LOVED these stairs until I realized this would be a nightmare for my dog to go down 😶🤣 they're really cool looking though! 💕 Edit: cats I imagine would love these stairs however, both fun to climb on and dogs would probably avoid it 😂
Actually, an agile dog can use alternating stairs. For example, my customer’s herding dog easily went up stairs, but their old golden doodle could not.
@@TopTreadStairways that makes sense! 🥰 My dog is very agile, but he's only 13lbs, so he's literally too little to even use these type of stairs. He could probably make it going up no problem, but there's no way he could come back down 🤣 he's so little there's no way he could reach the necessary steps with his front and back feet, if that makes sense 😂 After what you said, I bet my dad's Australian Shepard would figure it out and she's a more appropriate size
Looks unsafe, what if you were starting to trip? I feel like you wouldn't be able to try and catch yourself, also what about moving furniture up and down the stairs?
What exactly would be different if you tripped down normal stairs? As for moving furniture, since the pitch is already very steep, you probably wouldn't be doing it anyway...imagine the 3 walls he mentioned; you're not going to get anything very big up there. Everyone that has these says it takes about a half dozen times to get used to them and that's it.
Thanks to both of you for your questions and comments. Alternating-Tread Stairs or not for every project. They are designed to be used in situations where floor space is limited or at a premium. Some examples of this are tiny houses, lofts, and access to sleeping areas of 250 ft.² or less. They can also be used as access to storage/utility areas. In cases where there is not enough room for a conventional staircase, alternating stairs or a FAR superior solution to a ladder!

Thanks. Let me know if I can build a space-saving stair for you.
For this kind of stairs, the first step is so important.
especially on the way down..

Well done! I love your enthusiasm and your openness about your faith in God.
Thanks! My boss is a Jewish Carpenter.
One wrong step on these stairs, and you're certainly gonna meet Him.
Loved your honoring your discipleship to a Jewish carpenter names Jesus of Nazareth. Beautiful alternating tread stairway.
Thanks Charley! If you think stairs is all I am excited about, you don’t really know me😁😁
Beautiful job! (If convenient in future can we have one shot that is backed out so you can see the whole project?)
Thank you much for sharing. 👊

Well, the solution for that is to build a stair (alternating tread or conventional) with very small risers.
How much horizontal space did this use?
58 inches including the landing.
looken good there
Thanks for your compliments Glenn!
What are the dimensions of and footprint of this staircase?
Thanks!
The footprint of this space-saving stair is 52“ x 52“.

Any issues with it splitting along the grain?
I am very particular on the consistency of the wood grain I use for the treads. I’ve built over 50 of these stairs and have not had one break yet.
