- In today's video, I am going through everything that I did to get a grade 9 in both English Literature GCSE and English Language GCSE. I dive into my entire revision method and the strategy I used to make sure that I got the 9! English is by far one of the most indefinite subjects to revise for so I'm hoping that this video better equips you with the tools you need to get top marks and provides a bit more clarity in what you need to do to get there. I had my first english language gcse exam this week and it has just been cancelled. my English teacher is going to hopefully get us to do it in year 12 instead of giving us a predicted grade though so I still found this video helpful so thanks for the tips🖤

I recently sat for my mocks and didn't do so well in English literature, the grade I had gotten is a 4 and I was wondering if I should drop it because I still have to more months till IGCSEs and I don't think I have the time to put into the work. So base on your experience do you think I should drop it?
i got the same for my mock last week and tbh if i was u try ur best and get at least a 6 i am going what he suggests no need to give up! i have 7 months left and ill use that time to improve trust me if u got a 4 u can tryy get at least a grade higher! good luck
How did you use the cue cards? Like did you just read them or did you test yourself on them?
A little of both basically. I’d use the questions I wrote to test myself but also read the title of the cue card and try to think about what was on it. For example for the Romeo and juliet when I read the honour card, I would try to think of how the theme honour ran through the play and check the cards after

Hi Jake, I have a question : I do Frankenstein for my 19th century novel, but I would like to change the text to something like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde or A Christmas carol because there are a lot more revision resources. For a bit of context I do AQA. I asked my teacher, and he never let me finish my sentence and said NO immediately. What's even worst is that he said we study everything in depth. But we started Power and conflict, and I only have about 3 words for my annotations since he doesn't explain anything. So my question is can I choose the texts I do once I'm in the actual GCSE exam so I can revise a different text and choose that text in the actual GCSE?????
Yes you can, the questions for all of the choices of text will be on the exam and you can talk about a different text or poem anthology if you like

Honestly I’m not really sure. Think it will be a combination of internal exams so like mocks etc and other factors (no idea what they will be)
