Considering that that time in filmmaking used recycled footage a lot to save costs, yeah. Remember, this film only had a couple of million dollars, and it only marginally looked better than the low budget original. Compare that with today's $200 million plus movies, and tell me that except for visual quality, how modern films still fail to capture the essence and awesomeness of movies that only cost a fracture of a percent of what old movies did. :)

My favourite film in the franchise! Sucks about Baldwin being replaced (especially considering how stupid the rationale behind it was), but Le Gros does a good job and everything else is amazing. It reminds me of Hellraiser 2 in the sense that it's a rare case of a horror sequel that surpasses the original thanks to being able to have a much bigger scope and really expand the lore and improve the visuals.

The real way to watch the movies is 1-4 and if you want some more story 2 -3 and 5. ... 4 was made with footage that didn;t make it into part 1 since the first cut was like 4 hours. it is sooooo dream like and explains that the tall man is "out of phase" and basically a time lord. this is why he has been able to manipulate things so much and create the confusion he has for Michael. these two movies are Gems, although not for everyone, 2 and 3 are fun, but 1 and 4 are truly cerebral in nature.. the 5th was very disappointing, but i was glad to see Mr Scrim one last time though.

When i saw that, the first thing i said was, "Groovy." I just watched this movie last night. Its funny how the orbs were treated as the main focus of the trailer but only appeared in the movie for a few minutes. I guess these days those effects could easily be achieved by any 12-year-old with a laptop, but back then it was a big ordeal.

    1:29 aka "Don Coskereezee"
1:59 Notice how that drill bit is reverse-threaded (w/counterclockwise twist). I never noticed that before. I'd bet you anything the actual props have clockwise-threaded drill bits.
2:09 The Tall Man must have forgotten that "cool guys don't look at explosions."
6:40 That tool right there is called a "bush hook." It resembles a medieval infantry pole arm called a "billhook" (which was a lot longer, had a more complex blade design, was cheap to mass produce, and was versatile and effective).
6:34 They only have sporting-style weapons which is realistic for the time and place. Pump-action shotguns would be prime choice. Lever-action rifles aren't bad either, but believe it or not, leverguns are actually more high-maintenance than semi-autos. Or rather, they can be after drastically extensive use.
6:50 In realistic terms, he'd be better off with a plain ol' pump-action shotgun. Skip double-barrels entirely. That is, unless you intend to trim down a double-barrel into a Mad Max-style pistol-size "hogleg" and use it as a compact lightweight backup weapon that offers "Max Damage" (Carmageddon reference). If you do use a double-barrel, then the best type is an over/under hammerless boxlock. Most over/unders are hammerless boxlocks with single-selective triggers and falling firing pins that fire top first, the bottom, and reset to the top when the gun is broken open for loading. Side-by-sides can be hammerless or can have double hammers (aka "rabbit ears"). Typically, they're either hammerless boxlocks or "rabbit-ear" sidelocks. Sometimes you'll find a hammerless sidelock or a "rabbit-ear" boxlock, but those are both less common than the reverse. There are also such things as sidelock over/unders, but the vast majority of over/unders are boxlocks. Btw, when it comes to double-barrel shotguns, it's better to fire two fast consecutive shots rather than one double-shot. If you need to hurl that much lead downrange with one blast, a 10-gauge is the way to go. Good luck finding one, though. 12 and 20 are the most popular gauges.
*Note:* On the topic of shortening shotgun barrels, screw the ATF! They're probably in league with The Tall Man!
6:54 Probably trying to one-up Ash. XD Every quad-barrel shotgun in every FPS game was probably inspired by Reggie's "Dwarf Killer." Bulletstorm even has one with the same barrel arrangement. A 2x2 barrel arrangement would be better, though. There are some rare examples of quad-barrel shotguns with a 2x2 barrel arrangement. They were called "vierlings" named for the German word "vier" for "four." Most vierlings were combination guns with two shotgun barrels combined with two rifles barrels. The rifle barrels were often two different calibers - one small, one large. This type of gun was always custom made to customer specs and was super Gucci to the max. They were intended for "mixed bag" hunting.
7:02 Blood 2: The Chosen had one of those, but you had to play as Ishmael to get full use out of it.
7:35 Notice how Reggie, who's right-handed, is wearing his bandoleer properly in right-handed configuration. It always cheeses me off when actors wear their gear wrong. Also notice how those shotgun shells are yellow, indicating that the Dwarf Killer might be a 20-gauge. That would explain why he's able to fire a quad-blast without it flying out of his hands.
11:15 Another use for trimmed-down shotguns. Still don't understand why they didn't take ALL of those pump-action shotguns since those really were the best of what was available. They should have taken more than just too, that way they could "deputize" and equip others should they happen upon them. I think that's what Rick Grimes intended to do in the first season of 'The Walking Dead'.
11:23 Samantha Phillips was 23 at the time.
14:00 That's right! They set up a trap with a hand grenade, didn't they? Where did they get a hand grenade?! Was it at the hardware and sporting goods shop? XD
14:21 They'd hadn't yet established competent and consistent protocols of operation yet. See also Zombieland and Zombieland 2. Ten years later and they still hadn't established even the most basic competency in firearms handling or team tactics. Or even basic details like watching out for each other and knowing where each team member is so they don't hurt each other.
14:36 If yer gonna use a shotgun as an anti-vehicular weapon, of course, it's best to use slugs. 12, 20, and 10-gauge slugs will all do just fine.
14:04 Reggie always gets his Hemi-Cuda back and he always retrieves the Dwarf Killer. No mind paid to continuity. Full Moon movies are even worse about that, though. I still love 'em, but I also respect continuity and attention to detail.
15:44 They never explain why Reggie took the butt pad of that shotgun's stock. If he intends to be firing quad-blasts out of that thing, he should put MORE of a butt pad on it, not LESS. Also, we can assume that he trimmed to barrels to a wedge shape thinking that it would increase the spread. Fact is, shotgun patterns don't work that way. Plus, shotshells contain wads which keep the pellets together and fall away in-flight, so trimming the barrels like that wouldn't affect the pattern. Or at least, not in the way we're led to believe.
17:31 / 17:35 There was a scene like that in 'Mandy'. There was also a chainsaw duel scene in 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Part 2'.
18:20 They never explain why he ditches it. Yeah, his bandoleer got cut, but he can just retrieve it and fix it (or find a new one). The ammo is still good. I hate it when characters make dumb decisions for no reason. It insults the audience. Reggie gets his Dwarf Killer back in the next one, but it's out of nowhere with no explanation.
19:43 Also reminiscent of Street Trash.
20:39 Why did Reggie put the flashlight on top where it obstructs the...sights? Oh, yeah. No one uses sights in movies. Plus, for that thing to have functional sights (and yes, you DO need sights on a shotgun), he'd have to do some more custom work on it.

I actually like the actor they picked to replace Mike in this one and sort of wished he stayed for the other sequels. He does a good job with what he was given. The other sequels, in my opinion, kinda suffer from bringing back the original actor because he really doesn't do a good job.
