I wanted to do something to redirect the conversations from what it was to hopefully something more positive and uplifting. I was just having this conversation with someone. I used to love the beauty community and what it stood for, now the beauty community is a placed for people to be petty, catty, shady, etc. and for some reason they think they're being cute. Everyone turned into an ad for brands that are paying them. I love that Jackie keeps it real and showcases brands that are not talked about just because they don't have the money to pay influencers to push their products in every video.
the jackie theme song in the beginning of every video is what helps me breathe without an inhaler 😭😭💕

with all the craziness thats going on with youtube community, i want to share two points here
1. to youtubers: whether they agree or not, they have a deep influence on the viewers. please use this power for good and just as and when you can. there will be times u will make mistakes coz u are a human being too and u r not perfect. be honest about it and own your truth
2. to the viewers: stop treating youtubers like punching bags. they are human beings just like every human on this planet earth. voice your opinions in humane way.. u should tteat others like you want to be treated.
for either cases, truth and inclusivity is a right of every human being irrespective of which side of the screen they are at..

Yetunde O simple. Muslims get overlooked in the beauty community. It’s rare to see Muslim-owned makeup brands become popular and successful. It’s pertinent to showcase that for inclusivity as it’s a part of their culture (a culture that has such a negative connotation by other non-Muslim communities I might add).
D. Legrand I get your point but not that simple. Being from a Muslim family and knowing Islam is a religion not culture, I do not see the relevance. Majority of Muslims are not visible so you do not know if I am Muslim or not. People do not state their religion on their company's website so there is no way to really know what is Muslim owned and what is not.
If we are promoting Muslim owned we might as well promote Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, African traditional religions etc.
I'm Jewish, queer, and pale as the background of this comment, but I love seeing the interfaith positivity (and just general human positivity) Jackie brings to her channel. Jackie says Rihanna is walking the walk, but I'd say Jackie does the same. It's unfortunate to not see that same spirit in more beauty TH-camrs, but hopefully attitudes will shift and we'll see more videos of folks raising up folks.

as a caucasian girl(literally half irish half polish), i knew that things needed to be more diverse, but i never realized how much you guys had to actually “make things work”, and now i’m obsessed with you, i’ve been watching your videos at least 5 times a day and for anybody that has the mindset of “mix shades, use products for different reasons, ect”.. if most people are going out and buys a 40$ foundation, there is no reason they should have to purchase two with their hard earned money just because brands don’t care enough to give them shades. i can barley even justify one! i see white privilege and know it’s a real thing that is there, but i never realized how much it affected the beauty world as well. thank you for always bringing so much attention to diversity and your community and the beauty community in general
