Nice one! If it makes you feel any better, I spent about 3 hours trying to remove my antenna base on Sunday. It’s just one, albeit seized and awkward screw.
It's Joel if you can get away with not having to replace the base, I recommend that option, what ever that may be. Tap a new thread in it and use a helicoil perhaps if the thread is knackered. Mine let water in so I had to take it off, I had to grind it out with a rotary file on a drill and sacrifice the amplifier module. Feel free to drop me a line if you need some advice.
It would be interesting if you can switch to different ECU map(rev 6900 instead of 6400) just pressing the sport button. Maybe its possible to program it?
Interesting mate. Not something I'm after, however in a similar light there is a roof module u can also get that makes the roof action a 1 touch button process. Which is something I'm going to do at some point.
As always, a good review and very watchable, but a £40 gizmo to change the default behaviour of an on/off button within half a second's reach... Is that really a problem that needs solving? 😉
Hi joel.... Personally i like to turn my Sport mode on and off manually, in my E89 Z4.......as it feels like a sense of occasion when you use it. Plus i think mine drinks a wee bit more fuel in constant sport mode. But it is a good handy mod for those that wish to have it. Stay safe..Mahou.👍 😊
Cool but £40 may be a bit steep to shell out when you can just press the button! Does a RED sport button exist? That’s would look cool and could be changed whilst the sport button is out? 🤔
Joel. If you don't mind I have a question about the zhp weighted shifter I think you have one? I'm thinking about getting one, is there alot of difference to the standard knob? Or would you say it's not really worth the price?, Thx 👍
Hi Joel, I want to buy a z4 2.2 and there's no sport button in it. Can I put a sport button?Do you know if inside the console I ll find the cable harness for it?
It would be cool if you did a video about how much money the channel makes, how much it costs to run, and more on how us regular watchers can try and help you 👍🏻
I’ve thought about doing this sort of thing before - not sure how interested people would be. I do have a Patreon which I’m not active on and would like to improve in future, but I have a “tip jar” open to people in the description of my videos as a way they can help financially, cause I’ll give it away now - TH-cam does not pay well! Thanks for watching.
@@GadgetMart you asked what's the best one to buy its a new model. I own a 3.0 Z4 m54 and I've had mine for a lot longer than Joel. Its currently sat on the driveway with no power steering

I think you kind of autocratically expect such a car to be looked after and I found a dud there are bad owners out there but this type of car people are prepared to travel for and maybe just assume they are shiny or the right color you like what ever but if you travel a distance and it's a dud you are going to feel and will waste your time and money
@@GadgetMart Fair enough cheers, must have been a real dud still advertised maybe 1 month later I wouldn't give him a grand for it I look at that is what you see at a glance and trying to hide don't go further
That's easy, to find the sport button on the MX-5 simply open the glove box, locate the plunger labeled Tampax and push it all the way down. To take it out of sport mode, simply pull up on the cord...
Because I am old and listen to Radio 4, I can't see the gain to be had by this mod. Pressing a button is no hard thing to do! Wish I had you legs though!!! 😀
Super! Always annoyed that i have to put the button on every time i take the Z4.
Thanks Joel, order one and got in this week and just what I was looking for!
Love the mod. Seriously need to get me one after lockdown.
Thanks for your help Daniel!
So I'm a total Noob but my 2003 Z4 has a passenger airbag light there and no switch. Can I add a sport mode feature button.

My thought exactly... How is.it a problem when it's 1 press into sports mode
You just cost £40. Something that had been bugging me for a while. Keep up the great videos.
Glad this was useful for you!

Nice vid, Lad!
Can you make a video for why the DTC might not work
Hi bro nice car
Can you please tell me which radio system did you put I want to put the same 😊
What is it with cable connecters, only 2 ways it could possibly insert, always takes 3 attempts to fit!?!?
Hi mate the link doesn't work, is this still available?
Where can I get one?

WWHAATTTT!!!??? My Z4 doesn't have the sports mode , It actually has the (passenger air bag off) button there
Hello! This module will work on a e46 330i ssg ? I have a sport button and doesn't work. Maybe with this module I will force activate. Thanks!
How did you get the stereo to sit flush? Couldn't find a video on the install on your channel... 🙏🏽

If the car did not come with the Sport mode from factory, can it be retrofited? Would it need coding?
That is a cool little mod!
But what do you figure that sport mode do to the car

My 04 z4 2.5 doesn’t have a sport mode, can you still add one or I’m out of luck ?
Mine actually came with a sport button
Strange it should
One question:if i have a bmw s
Z4 3.0 without sport button can i modify it to drive like one having a sport button? And how plz let me know
The sport mode increases throttle response and makes the steering feelheavier
Thanks Joel but it wasnt my question.my question is how to make a normal 3.0 drives like a 3.0 with sport button.
Hi joel how much Miles have your z4? My z4 have 200.000 km.. do you thing it’s That to much?
Hi Joel.
What’s the best Z4 to buy?
Go for fastest? Si or early M54 engine?
What’s your ideal spec discounting M cars?
absolute money pit these days. buy an mx-5 or save up for a new one.
Sonny A mx5 with 100hp? Lol then better buy a 2.0 z4
Sonny A lol, your having a laugh aren’t you?
What does a new one cost? 40,000+?
Say I do 60,000 miles in it what has that cost per mile before fuel?

Yes
Thanks Joel
If you pull the ashtray out you could mount the mode switch in there, so you wouldn't need to pull the gear stick surround out to change mode.
Tony.
That’s a good idea. I took the ash tray out as well, but didn’t think of that!
It seems like a lot or work to change from sport to regular! Having to pull the shifter cover off every time.

That would make sense and considerably easier than removing the shift cover

@Ca M - Yes it is

He certainly is!
I want it for E89
@Gabriel - it's a WIP but don't have access to an E89 to test and play with

Interesting but nothing I would spend money on
Seriously??
just call it a dipstick button, over engineered for a problem that does't exist, yes i,m a Z4 owner.
One of the most useless mods ever
What a waist of money
Boring
aha glad you managed to get the button off without breaking anything!
Yeah it was a little struggle, but a bit of persuasion did the trick!
