      Elijah Baker actually as a Brazillian, i don't think capoeira is a useful marcial art in MMA. I recomend you to train Brazillian Jiu Jitsu , if you master it, you become almost unbeatable, hahaha

    • @UltraInstinctIEli
      @UltraInstinctIEli 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      HunteredZF Oh I plan to train brazilian jujitsu straight up and wrestling too cuz I like grappling and plus I'll go far in mma and they're most important arguably since in early ufc days the two were most dominant arts and wrestling helps dictates where the fight goes and successful takedowns and stopping takedowns score high on score cards so if fight goes to decision I'll win and Brazilian jujitsu is important for ground game and without ground game you won't last long and have a short career and plus look at how Royce Gracie defeated pro boxers, pro muay thai fighters, pro kickboxers, karate and taekwondo black belts who were twice his size with his jujitsu alone and submitted them. So yea im definetly gonna do brazilian jujitsu.
      I just wanted to do capoeira for evassiveness and some mma fighters use it's flashy spin kicks with some success. Like Anthony pettis for example.

      I don't mean to discourage you; actually, I'm planning for the opposite. You don't seem to understand what a pro fighter really is, and even if you did, this is something you should consider *a lot*, because it has to take over everything else in your life. You need top-notch physical condition and gruelling training sessions. I'm not by any means close to being a pro (and while I love martial arts, I wouldn't like to risk brain damage in my 40s because some steroid-imbued freak decided to keep pummeling my head after a KO, so I just train at the gym) but I have some experience and am well-rounded. ITF Taekwondo Green Belt - which in ITF takes about 4 years to achieve-, kickboxing, and currently training Muay Thai and BJJ 3x a week each, plus weights and cardio.
      As for capoeira, I'll disagree with HunteredZF and tell you that it *does* have some applications, though by no means do you need or should train it on its own, as few instructors focus on its combat applications. The basis of MMA is formed by solid striking arts (mostly Muay Thai and kickboxing, although there are top-level Karatekas like Georges St-Pierre) and grappling arts (catch wrestling and BJJ, again, Ronda Rousey is a successful exception with her Olympian-level Judo skills). Wrestling/grappling doesn't necessary dictate a fight - just look at McGregor, but he too is a brown belt in BJJ and can handle ground game. Were I you, I'd find a gym that trains the arts separately and does mixed classes. Most neighborhood MMA gyms are McDojos that don't offer high-level instruction in each art; hell, there's a school in my area in which the instructor teaches MMA with a Taekwondo/Aikido background...bad idea. Follow your passion but don't rush into something that you have no idea about. BJJ especially, you will find that it's not as easy as it looks like; there's a reason it's called 'human chess'.

    The piece of paper basically shows that obesity, family problems, no money for gym membership is no excuse. You can go out and jog and use monkey bars etc. to train. Anyone can do what they what they want to achieve even when the odds are against them. It's if you want it bad enough

    • @rohinsabharwal5683
      @rohinsabharwal5683 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No it doesn't, it was a test to see if his technique was correct. But i get what you are saying about people making excuses.

    • @LoxagosSnake
      @LoxagosSnake 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      But, but...excuses are comfortable! People will go to great lengths to keep an excuse alive and kicking, to the point where they're kidding themselves. I see people training arts like Wing Chun and other TMAs (no, I'm not one of those people who think they are useless, just look at Sanshu fighters, but 90% of the instructors are) and shun fitness because they already know 'deadly techniques'. I see people give up BJJ because they got tapped 10 times in their first week. I even see people refuse to lift weights because their 'genetics are bad'.
      And the issues you correctly cite as the most common excuses? That's how they fall apart one-by-one.. Obesity is not genetic; sure, some people get chubby easier than others but you don't accidentally become obese, it takes effort (or lack thereof). Family/Friendship/Relationship problems? Thank God for my 3x week BJJ that can help me both get in fighting shape AND clear my mind from the clutter so I can navigate those issues in a calm, collected manner. No money is definitely a roadblock if you want to learn a martial art (TH-cam videos are just a supplement, not proper instruction) but it can be surpassed if, as you said, you want it bad enough. You don't have to enroll in a class with Firas Zahabi himself to learn MMA. My gym offers unlimited access to any martial arts class, any time of the day, for as many days as you like plus a weight room for 300 euros a year. "But that's a lot", people say, yet they blow much more money down the drain drinking and ordering Chinese every night; might as well benefit from it. See the vicious cycle that starts to form?
      The man said it well. If you see this video (or any example of what you love in life) and you start drooling, just leave your excuses at the door and GET HUSTLING.

    Well First of all only the boxer and the wrestler trained for four days the other two already had time training with Michael Jai White lol. Secondly I guess since they already had experience in fighting, one in boxing the other in wrestling, and they were all really talented anyways, maybe they could have become that strong in only four days they already had the fundamentals down in one fighting style, and it's not like they were scrawny so they didn't really need to waste time trying to build up strenght all they had to focus on were mastering the techniques. And lastly it's not like they became unstoppable they were getting connected during there fights. But thank you that's a fun fact I never noticed that it only took four days.
