Gladly, draining our bogs is now a thing of the past... I often wondered how they managed to cut the drains so perfectly parallel on BnM bogs going back 70 years ago before we had the use of GPS etc. Each field couldn’t be 2km long.
Okay, in America an "excavator' is what you call a "digger". That's what I expected to see. What is the point of draining the bogs? It doesn't look like farmland. Is it just so you can walk out there and hunt, etc without standing in water? Does anyone complain because you're "messing with the delicate wetland ecosystem"? Also, I know I'm weird, but I just love drab places like that, all browns and greys and cloudy skies. I would love to see the fens and the moors some day.
justforever96 if yiu cut thw turf and reclaim it properly you might get away with land suitable for sheep and that it actually wouldn't be too bad for winter and goodnfor summer grazing

Hi Alan This machine has very low ground and will travel anywhere. This peat bog is 25 feet deep.
Yes but cant the tracks on the diggers be lengthened and widened for bog work ?
What is this digging the ditches for?
+Kevin Turner the machine is making ditches to mark out property boundries and to drian bog also.
