Yesterday there was a mercy flaming me in QP "worst rein" because I wanted to see how I could play against Echo pharah as rein. Cant even try shit out, yk whats the best part? the rest of the team performed (statswise, not that it matters but a good point of reference) WORSE than me and yet I got proceeded to be flamed.
Just pointing another thing out, Its mostly the support players that flames others isnt it? even in just for fun QP games.
Been playing this game since release..... OW1 not 2.
I finished 1 placement in OW1, got to high Diamond or whatever the ranking was back then, never played again.
I tried recently with ow2 and uh.... I don't think I'll be getting a placement lol.
The transition at 4:14 warped my brain.
Yeah I had to rewind to make sure I didn't have a stroke. That edit was a little unnecessary.

I've been having a similar experience too, most wins is just your team clowning on the enemy, and if you end up with a win streak you get treated to games where you are expected to solo carry little Timmy & friends playing on controller who don't understand basic concepts like grouping up and not staggering.
I have 0 desire to play comp until the competitive/matchmaking changes in season 9, qp is already making me miserable enough :)

Don't compare yourself to someone who plays this game for a living, duoing with a great support who does the same.
A good tip is being hyperaware of where your supports are/should be.

You will likely never get to spawntrap or breakdown tricklers due to just about every rank under GM generally refusing to heal if they personally think you’re out of position.
Season 8 so far is the least fun ive had in overwatch (tank main) i do not like playing mauga and my teammates dont wanna swap to help either so i just feel trapped. The times i win it was just because of a team diff and i felt useless to the result.

They seriously don’t respect the tank or support communities the same
First 5 mins is just punching simulator, while just getting rocked, naned, slept on cooldown. God this is why I play support.

Lost 13 comp matches in a row last night, some games I was finishing with 5-7k more healing than the next highest and it didn't make a difference. Had a 3 stack of smurfs on the other team on paraiso legit admit to being gm1 tank was being toxic AF to our tank, managed to finally get a win with some chads on Circuit Royale that stopped me from deranking and decided it's time to give it up. Uninstalled ow, battle net and deleted battle net account, I shall cement by rank as diamond forever, never to reach masters but at least now I might actually be happy.

I know I'm a scrubby solo player....but man has it's been hard to play even tier games, all lopsided AF
As a fellow solo-queuer, I can confirm that the matchmaking has been consistently poor.
I have experience scrimming at a masters/grandmasters level (current peak SR is GM 5 on support, with dps and tank both around Masters 2) so I am confident that know a thing or two about the game, so I know I am not just speaking out of my ass on this.
Sure, I don't expect to win every game, and I know everyone has bad games every once in a while, but when majority of the games are either "stomp or get stomped", then something just doesn't add up. It just seems so statistically improbable for whole teams to be having bad games so frequently.
The balance of the game in my opinion is in a pretty decent spot right now so it's not like people are absolutely abusing broken heroes (though some heroes are definitely more annoying to deal with than others, but still not unbeatable), so from my perspective it all boils down to the skill disparity of the lobby that is not accurately reflected by the mmr/matchmaking system.
But I suppose that is enough rambling/venting, thanks for coming to my TED talk

I just wanted to play with the Christmas sweater winton skin. But I had the worst night of overwatch in my life. Every game was continuous misery.
GM players would lose their minds if they ever had to actually play in lower ranks. I've decided that there exists only 3 real ranks in this game.
1. People who don't know what they're doing or don't know how to function as a team.
2. People who are decent and understand the fundamentals.
3. People who are legitimately skilled, have lots of game sense, and really fast reaction time.
Type 2 and 3 both exist in Masters and Grand Masters.
I'm ranked like a 1, think I play like a 3, and am probably actually a 2. Some games you get people who have actually seemingly played the game more than 2 times before, and you can actually make an impact because your team supports you and you can support them in making plays. But most of the time it's teams that seem to not know literal fundamental aspects of the game, like how to use their abilities or the fact that they might be able to kill the tank if they shot the supports first.

As a person who really only plays quick play. What makes a game bad in your rank?
For top rank players, it's literally the difference in 10s of Top 500. Top 10, top 15, or even top 50 players are wildly different in skill from players in the Top 300-500 range. Games are "bad" in a sense that players are so wildly different in skill which is kind of a big deal for the devs to announce they are going to put in a new rank above GM called Ultimate.
