It's just a small prison, but a hard one. The Carcel Distrital in Bogotá, Colombia.
Every day, the prison staff of 170 ensures stern discipline and order within the red brick walls. Their batons are loose and the inmates have to line up to be counted several times per day. Unannounced raids bring out a number of forbidden objects. This strict approach is necessary. The nearly 1000 inmates aren't used to rules.
Outside, they did whatever they wanted. In here, they try the same. Gangs, drugs, weapons - this prison has it all. In particular, it has a great many problems. Every day, fights for power usually end in severe injuries.
The inmates not only turn their weapons against others, but also against themselves. Many imprisoned here cannot stand their lives. Injuring themselves is a way to handle their hopelessness.
Others can only suffer life in prison by taking drugs. Getting them is easy. The location of the Carcel Distrital facilitates smuggling. One good throw over the prison walls and the drug package is inside the yard.
The gangster bosses do their business and make their money in prison - also by blackmailing other inmates. If it comes out, they will be put in isolation for a few days. That's the worst punishment for the prisoners. The prison within the prison makes their despair even worse.
All of them share one goal: turning their backs on the harsh life in prison and never coming back. A goal that few will achieve.

You know, it's interesting that the one in Madagascar is the worst by far when it comes to conditions, but is the least problematic by far when it comes to issues with violence.
I think it's because a lot of them were imprisoned for petty things, amd they are probably so malnourished and sleep deprived that they have no energy
keep them on the edge of starvation and disease and they'll be too worried about survival to fight.
They're all extremely dumb and weak. That's it. They don't know math to begin with.

Battlerap Atheist the reason drugs are kept out is also because of how bad the can affect your health. prison is not meant to be good or relaxing. hardest the punishment, less chance of people thinking its worth not to be caught doing the crime in the first place.

they also do this for baseball and basketball uniforms and apparel when a player moves teams and there still stock of the old clothing. the only sport that doesnt do this is the NFL

Omg I feel so bad for SOME of them. I’ve never seen cutting that bad. I truly believe mental care is gonna fix them. Definitely not completely but it’s for sure gonna help with self harm, depression and suicide. But again nobody is providing them anything💔
It is extremely unfortunate that mental health and wellbeing is still not seen as a sickness the same way a broken arm or whatever is. Mental illness needs treatment the same as a broken arm.

I found it very strange that the prisoners we're running the prison in Columbia ! I would think they have prisons there that are very brutal and beating are a regular , just my thoughts ! But I don't see Columbia as a place to play around ,I do believe they have or had a wonderful culture and their land was beautiful , Don't know what is now with the drugs takeing over everyone's life in some way or another

I would love to go just go see the beautiful country my mom, aunties, uncles and grandparents are from. I would love to visit the city my mom was born at abd personally learn more about the culture besides what my mom already has taught and the food she shows me that I love greatly.. She does remind me how great America is and to be happy I live here because she personally knows all too well how third world countries are they may have their beauty but they also have their hardships including corruption. America may not be perfect it does have it's faults but we have it hella good here compare to elsewhere so I am grateful for my mom reminding me of this.. -Mercy(sorry for the name confusion I am on my dad's phone at the moment)
