I started my first mini set last night and was baffled at the transfer sheet... I tried so hard to peel one off like a sticker 🤦♂️ Now I know. Thank you!
It will help you with both - adds another layer to hold the transfer in place and reduces shine. The transfer will still stick without the medium though.
@@robertkillen4797 lamian and art coat. You can also use gloss varnish and matt varnish. You should varnish your minis after you finished painting them anyway.
@@APegLegPirate In case you still need an answer, stormshield is basically just a matt varnish/finish to apply over a finished paintjob. Ardcoat is the same but with a glossy finish, the reason they put ardcoat on before the transfer is to even out the surface where the transfer goes and make it a bit more tacky, and the stormshield over the transfer is to remove the shine.
I managed to tear a big hole in the transfer sheet before forgetting to put a cut on the transfer, so it wouldn’t stick to the pauldron right. Moral of the story? Take your time.
2 Month into Warhamemr and those Transfers making me into Khorne Mode... thanks for the Video

Just did this for my Master of Executions for my World Eaters. Worked perfectly thank you.
Did you cut anything extra like in the last part of this video? I'm about to do this myself but I'm not sure if I should!
Going to do this with my workd eaters soon! Ty for all of these videos :) super helpful!
Thanks, this help me a lot
This used to be so intimidating to do as a new hobbyist, but I found it’s less complicated than it looked with practice
This helps a LOT! Thank you!
Idk if I'll get a response, but where's the best place to cut to put Salamander transfers onto the pauldrons?
Man, here's hoping I can figure out the curving stuff with fist shaped transfers!
So do I need the lamian medium to make it stick? Or is it just because it's shiny?

Get microset and microsol. Trust me.
what if i use cemment? is it still working
Yes 🗿
How do you cut the decal for the shoulder pads of thousand sons? Our symbol filly all of the decal surface
I tried using this but now my transfer is ruined!
What the name of the medium?

Could you just use Stormshield instead of ‘ardcoat?
@martindonohue66 did you ever find the answer to this?
I'll be getting storm shield and am curious as to whether I still need ardcoat

Is it me…….. or did they hire Tracer’s VA to narrate this video?! 🤔
What if you don't have anything to put over the decal
You need to buy varnish otherwise the transfer might chip off and take the paint underneath it with it.
