    Tip - you need to hold down the “turn around” button to actually turn around, similar to Zwift

      Thanks for sharing that tip Andrew, I'll definitely give it a try next time I'm on.

      Even in the video it's clearly visible that the button is "charging" when pressed at 9:56

    Great video. I have been using RGT for over two years and I am really enjoying riding indoors with RGT. I really love the magic road feature which allows you to ride personal routes that RGT build in the virtual world when you send them a GPX file. Great way to train for a race.

    The thing that has me thinking about switching to RGT is using the fit data. You can ride a route in the real world and use the data from your Garmen or other GPS device and use it for training. There were some hills on my bike ride in Malaysia that were just too hard for me. I think it would be great to keep trying from the comfort of my home.

    Excellent video ! I'm a total newbie to this world of "smart trainers and apps", my Saris H3 is due to be delivered in 3 days time- I've just had a headache of upgrading from Windows 8.1 to 10 as I discovered barely any of the training apps run on lower OS's(GCN had a video advising a D/L speed of 10mbps was needed for RGT? If so I'm out of luck....) Gonna try and get SYSTM too and give that a go as well as RGT. The Saris comes with a free month of Zwift and also Rouvy, but from what I've read and seen so far RGT seems more up my street- not so much into races just decent training and lone riding (like the real world here in the Scottish Highlands lol), and the long dark winter is almost here so indoor training seems a better option than trying to motivate to go out when it's snow/ice or pi**ing with rain and pitch black 18 hrs a day!!!

      How did you find the Saris H3? Currently debating between getting one or just something like the Schwinn 800IC.

    In the RGT workout section, when in a free account, you can select any one of the 12 courses to do your workout on, not just Canary Warf. Also there are pace bots ( very few) and real bots. The pace bots stay at an even w/kg, the real bots attack as well as d raft off of you. They can be frustrating especially if you are trying to do a pace line.

    • @mannimix
      @mannimix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll have to check out your tip in the workout section and try another course. I found riding Canary Warf over and over again boring. That's why I used my Garmin and played videos from TH-cam to change up the scenery while I work out, to get ready for a group event. Thanks for sharing the tip Stuart....👍

    • @pierrex3226
      @pierrex3226 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hmmm, you can't. I signed up with a free account, the only available map is Canary wharf to do any of the free workouts. Even the Italian one doesn't work for workouts

    Looking forward to this. I'll be using my android phone and hopefully it works. Can't yet afford an Ipad. Getting my kickr next week. I can't wait. Also ordered apple tv, to get on swift as well as wahoo rgt. This was very helpful in making my decision to go wahoo kickr!

    • @mannimix
      @mannimix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Jennifer Fry Wow! ur all in. Trainer, Apple TV, RGT, Zwift. The Kickr is a great trainer, I have the 4th gen. Works great and very convenient, w fold up legs and handle. Easy to pack up and put away. Don't be concerned about apps on your Android phone. All should work without issue I did it for awhile until my new tablet arrived.

    For me i think they don't give enough free circuits to try. only 2 that's not enough as one is too hilly so I really have one to try. Too many bots who are too strong yes. I like the draft effect but again not enough riders to be with so it's nearly all alone that i train anyway. I am hesitating between RGT and zwift as they are at the same price in UK. I used the app on my mobile phone and I cannot race with the free version. Visibly you could so I was wondering if there's different options available depending on your country or if due to the app being on the phone vs laptop or computer.

    • @mannimix
      @mannimix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Christophe T Very interesting point you made when it comes to races, Chris. The last time I raced was back in early to late January. Not sure if they shelve races during the summer and restart them in the fall/winter. It'll be interesting to see once the indoor season starts up again in the fall, if in fact as you, say people in the UK cannot enter a race. That would really push the cycling community, away from Wahoo.
      In regards to places to ride, they do open up other the locations. I've seen Passo del Stelvio and Pienza open, then close for other locations. Unfortunately, their hilly and not what you're looking for.
      I hope the people at Wahoo are reading our comments from potential customers, and make some changes to the app.
      At least you had a chance to try it free. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    Very nice vid. Is it, when you ride a route more than once, possible to compete against your self? In other words: is it possible that a previous ride is represented by an avatar?

    • @mannimix
      @mannimix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the compliment. You cannot do that in the free version. Not sure if you can do it in the paid version, under Magic Roads. If it's not there Wahoo RGT should consider your idea, very cool. Best way to see if you're improving.

    It's barely free now and still hardly any other users. Just one free ride and now a 2 week free trial on the premium subscription.
    A did a group ride, i was the only human. The bots were either too good or two slow for me, so i spent most of the ride by myself between the racing bots and the pacing bots.
    But the UI is quite better than Zwift, although i was getting a bit bored with the unchanging scenery on the ride i chose.

    • @mannimix
      @mannimix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Jules M... I'm still able to use Wahoo RGT free, with some reduced features as you mentioned. I've had the app for almost a year and am still able to join events and rides free. It'll be interesting to see when your trial ends if you can still use the Free features of RGT. I have yet to put the bike on a trainer and start my indoor season. I'm trying to squeeze out every last day I can enjoy outdoors. I'm sure when people like myself move indoors you'll see more users sign up for events. I just logged in to check things out and RGT is starting a race series. Split up into different races each week. You'll see people sign up for those. Keep in touch, I'd like to hear more about your experience with RGT

    • @jubeman
      @jubeman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mannimix hmmm, interesting. It seemed like only the one free, free ride. I don't think it let me join an event without a subscription. So i decided to try the 2 week free subscription. That's also allowed me to try the magic ride, so I've uploaded (emailed) 2 GPX files from my real life rides. Will be interesting to see how it compares the sim version of my local mountain climb. Maybe less riders when i was on as I'm in Australia and the northern hemisphere was asleep.... Raining here a lot lately so i needed an outlet ☺️

    • @mannimix
      @mannimix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Jules M...Magic roads is definitely not a free option, and will end with your trial. Give the event races a try. You'll be able to see how many people are registered. They're my favourite, and no bots. You're in Australia, lucky you, summer is just around the corner.

      @DipBuyer83 You'll be able to use SYSTM without a power meter on an older trainer, by following the instructions in this article by Wahoo. (Follow the link). Not sure if it works with RGT. Try it out and let me know.
