I never ever ever ever ever dreamed I would stan a KPOP GROUP?! If you had told me 3 years ago that I would end up completely in love with a 9 member kpop gurl group I would've laughed my ass off at how stupid and impossible that would be. Yet here I am. I have now collected a ton of merch (still need a ton more cuz I want every single album) I went to both shows in Chicago and paid a fortune for good seats, I bought all 3 versions of With YOUth plus all 9 member versions AND the vinyl AND 2 digital versions...like...they got me man.
It's not just that their music is EXCEPTIONALLY good, like insane no skip massive discography, but it's their incredible individual personalities, their amazing friendships, and the BEAUTIFUL connection they have with Once. They give us sooooooooo much content! Being a ONCE is like having a whole secret 2nd life that is filled with nothing but joy. I just....fkc man. It's next level.

TWICE THE MAGIC OF THE SUN AND MOON is some witchcraft shit man. This is how they get the delulu into you, these little moments in the b-sides. Also Jeongyeon has so many parts in this album, and she's absolutely killing everything.
Jeongyeon has several really nice moments on this EP! I really enjoy Bloom which I'm told she wrote and yes that line/part of the song is just 🔥🔥🔥

I don't think ONCE has been overwhelming actually - everyone is super warm and supportive, it has been a great experience talking to all the ONCEs! I LOVE Slipknot lol.
As a new once myself, this comeback was such a breath of fresh air. Going back through their whole catalog has been a wild ride and I gotta say the Holy Trinity of albums would be: Formula of Love, Eyes Wide Open and Taste of Love. 😍Welcome to Twiceland

It's almost impossible to rank Twice music and I mean that legit, no cap. Every single album, mini album, single release, etc is SO FCKING DOPE! I agree Formula of Love is probably the single best kpop album ever made-- it actually is the HIGHEST RATED kpop album by critics!! Mini albums? I actually am putting With YOUTh at the top. Damn this album hit all the feels for ONCES. Especially the whole I GOt you- You Get Me duo. Dahyun really wrote the best song on the album imo. You Get Me made me cry (and I don't ever cry) something about the lyrics just wrekt me dude. "When I'm with you I'm the best me. Lately I've been feeling like everything is enough" like damn. All humans are searching for that kind of connection in life. And after reading what Dubu wrote about it:

It's real though TWICE really does change you. I wasn't a fan of this kind of music back in like 2018, but after discovering this group, it was over for me lol. Welcome to the TWICE rabbit hole man! Not as up to date, but more... personal? You get more flavor imo. I don't remember what it's called, but it's the long one when you search lol I don't think you can go wrong with either one, but I think the older one gives you what you want as a reactor more of the time
TWICE is TWICE. They are in a lane of themselves. They are performing for themselves and their fans. You can feel their love and passion. Its so hard to not love them

I love Jeongyeon’s voice so much and I wish she were featured more in their title tracks. She wrote the lyrics for Bloom. I’m really bad at ranking songs, so I just don’t do it (like you don’t pick biases)
Taking my daughter to see them in concert was definitely a top life experience for us.
I think Jeongyeon has some really great moments in this EP but I guess she isn't featured so much in the Title Tracks. She is very talented! I understand not ranking them I still don't know my ranking except that I think One Spark and Bloom and maybe Rush are my top 3? But that might change by tomorrow!

Twice has said the mini album is more about showing their love for each other and for their fans - so it has sentimental value. You will see their discography is very, very diverse and is soooo good. This is not even close to one of their best albums and it is already really good.
Love it! I definitely get the sentimental part, especially if I got you and you get me, those seem to be favorites among ONCE. Whole EP is good I'm excited to see more!
Twice debuted in 2015 and dominated the entire Gen 3, the most album selling girlgroup of all time, most Daesang winning girlgroup of all time. Gen5 is coming, Twice is already legend, don't have to proof anything more. Let's just enjoy and cherish their tribution to us😊
BLOOM is 100% the song on this EP for me. Thanks Jeongyeon and everyone else who worked on that masterpiece of a b-side.
So glad you ended up doing this album! Others have said it already but if you are open to doing a guide I highly recommend a Helpful Guide to TWICE 2022 by Mina Minguin. It could also serve as a jumping off point to help you decide what to listen to next if any of the clips from the guide use a song that you want to hear the full version of.

Yeah as I listen to this EP on shuffle my ranking changes but Bloom is always high! Jeongyeon killed it on this EP!! You Get Me is a very sweet, warm song and honestly it reminds me of ONCE. ❤️

I totally relate to your comment about these being the type of songs you wouldn’t have looked into prior. In the 80 I actively dismissed anything remotely disco and actively disliked the boy bands of the era for only singing and dancing. In the 90s I bought into the DIY indie-cred mentality and blocked myself from anything corporate or pop.
But just months after I found BlackPink, then Twice and many other groups, I had to admit I was hooked and was basically vibing with the modern versions of all of those things because the production level was just so good. Now I can even appreciate the bubblegum cute concept songs. It was a huge shift in a short time.

So in case nobody mentioned it, "Rush" was written by Chaeyoung. And as the other folks mentioned, "Bloom" was written by Jeongyeon, and "You Get Me" was written by Dahyun. I love how they are really flexing their skills as song writers in this stage of their careers.
I would really love to see you watch a guide, but then also I'd like to see you react to their debut song "Like OOH-AHH" so you can see just how much they've grown since. I'll admit I was worried since you said you weren't a huge fan of bubblegum pop, and their early music can definitely skew that way, but seeing how receptive you are to their music makes me so happy. Trust me those later stage banger songs still have me in a chokehold, and so when I went back to listen to their older songs I was floored at just how much these ladies keeping maturing like a fine wine! 🍷
I think it's very cool that they're taking part in writing the songs too! Between her vocal moments and the fact that she wrote Bloom I am very impressed with her! I'm definitely open to a guide, and of course older songs!

I haven't really listened to their album yet, so much kpop to get to, so this has been it for me as well and I must say I like their sound! I don't think I have any Twice songs in my daily playlist but I might have to change that once I really give the time to relisten to a lot of their songs that I already know and obviously this mini album as well. Glad you're enjoying their content so far! 😊

I was eagerly awaiting your reaction to this after seeing your I Got You video. I’m glad this album is impacting different than other twice releases, I feel it’s more emotional than their previous works. Rush was written by Chaeyoung, reminds me of Wallflower. New New has the quintessential Twice vibes, it sounds phenomenal with their voices. Jeongyeon is showing she’s not all talk with Bloom, those harmonies could send me to the afterlife…
My favorite though, is You Get Me. The instrumentals are perfect. The vocals sound effortless and buttery smooth. Dahyun did an amazing job with the song, especially how she links back to Set Me Free with “oh, when I’m with you, I’m the best me” Thanks again!
So interesting that a lot of ONCE seem to prefer You Get Me! I think it's such a nice and sweet loving song it seems to vibe with a lot of people. I guess ONCE are all just loving! ❤️

I decided on the 2 songs I like the most, but I'm having a hard time sorting the rest;

I became a Twice fan thanks to their 2nd full album EYES WİDE OPEN (title track: I Cant Stop me).. And my favorite Twice albums are in the top 3 in my list. My other 2 favorite albums are their 3rd full album FORMULA OF LOVE and their 10th mini album is TASTE OF LOVE .. if you make a reaction video for one of these albums, I will watch it with pleasure..
Note: There is also the 11th mini album Between 1&2 and the 12th mini album Ready To Be .. there are songs that I like very much in their older albums, but these are a little more prominent. .
ONCE loves You Get Me! I'm seeing a lot of people who have that at the top for them. I think for the sweet sentiment of it which I understand. I personally am loving Bloom and One Spark but I have also just been playing with her whole EP on shuffle so you can't go wrong!

Thanks so much for reacting and giving their music a chance! This ep was so dreamy and vibey and actually a really cohesive theme (which is rare for twice because they tend to experiment a lot with genres) and I loved it a lot myself.
So I think your idea to check out a few older songs might be a good idea! Then maybe a guide if you’re up for it? (They’re usually very popular viewings with ONCE who would definitely tune in with big numbers, I guarantee it). I’ve seen some guides mentioned in your comments and the 2 I’d recommend would be either “who is twice (a guide into living legends)” by jaytzuu or “A helpful guide to twice 2022” by MinguinMina
The first one goes into detail about Twice’s history and achievements as a group. The second one mainly concentrates on detailed member profiles so you can get to know each member’s talents/personalities. Both are great (and both are a little outdated, but still cover most of their careers!) so it just depends on your preference and what you’d be more interested in!
Ok so just to clarify: the reason I think so many people commented on your I can’t stop me / the Feels reaction saying you had reacted only to new songs (myself included) I think is mainly because you had mentioned their music suited your taste better than expected but pre-2019 twice is a lot more bubblegum pop. So just measure your expectations when watching because I think there’s a decent likelihood it just won’t be for you (I could be wrong! This is just based on what I’ve seen even in some other group reactions). But still I’m sure you’ll have fun watching since the girls are so fun and charismatic!
The song “fancy” in 2019 is a DISTINCT change for them to a more mature look/sound. And they have a ton of music (and even title tracks) since then.

I see - I don't expect to fully love every song from any group that has a lot of songs, that's basically impossible so I won't hold TWICE to that standard! I will pick a couple older videos for my next mini dive and we'll see where we go from there but I anticipate we'll keep going 😉
Yeah I think this album is pretty similar to their old bubble gum pop sound, but they've always had really catchy hooks and that fast tempo so you find it sticking in your head.
I am really enjoying their high energy/high tempo style which I think makes sense because that's something I appreciate about ITZY too!

Not only did Jeongyeon write Bloom, but it was originally meant for Jihyo's solo album ZONE. Jihyo was having difficulties singing it solo so they rearranged it for Twice and was a better fit.

I've seen a lot of people have You Get Me and I Got You as their favorite (TWICE seems to gravitate towards the sweet/sentimental songs at least on this EP) but as I'm writing this I think I'd put Bloom and One Spark at the top but like you I think it's all good. Welcome to Twiceland, an all inclusive place by the way, these women are just different. Ok just a fair warning you don't want to bias Jeongyeon it will just be heart breaking for you, I bias her and she is so under used it would be criminal but it's her choice (to much lore to explain) she's been my bias since day one. You've come at a good time for Momo she is finally getting her flowers (she and Dahyun are my wreckers). For me I Got You, You Get Me written by Dahyun who has written some of my favorite Twice songs, then Bloom which was written by my bias Jeongyeon but it does seem to be most reactors fav. The last song on a Twice album is usually a ballad but always just a bit different than the rest of the songs. Oh one last thing, more lore, Mina has an alter ego we call her Sharon (she was born in Texas and I've heard it's actually her middle name) and she is shall we say a little no will say A LOT more out going the full back shot on Do Not Touch that's Sharon she can also change her vocals to match, angel bridges and some deep censual verses. OT9 forever.
Well I'm sorry to hear Jeongyeon is under used because in this comeback I think she has been really good! And yeah she wrote Bloom which is definitely a favorite for me. I notice a lot of ONCE seem to prefer the fan/ love songs which I think is great!
I like all of MISAMO because of Do Not Touch and yeah Mina has also stood out for her bridges and they use her to change the tone of songs. Very special!

It is truly an art form that JYP et al manage to feature all nine members reasonably equally in four minutes or less.
The EP is a good one and broke Twice’s original record for initial sales. They are a powerhouse for a reason.
But I also think they helped to define peak 3rd generation and you see 4th gen groups surge forth with fewer members, harder raps and more varied dance routines (i was going to say more technical, but while Le Sserafim and XG definitely represent that, New Jeans is generally a bit more laid back.) I don't know if you saw but my most recent bias is Tzuyu's shoulders. Haha my bias seems to be whoever is looking at the camera or singing at the moment. 😅 I try not to have a real bias so I can be more fair when I react/review. They're all so good!
