Honestly if a full documentary for TWICE will be created right now, it would probably take like 3 hours just to talk about their achievements for the last 8 years of their career.
They are dominating in the West even though they don't have a fluent English speaker in the group. Organic growth it is.
Which is very impressive in itself. Like having multiple full English songs is respected so much.

Another impressive thing about the success of MISAMO is the fact that they basically strictly ONLY promoted in Japan and still got #1 in 20 different places. They also had a showcase over 5 different days where they, a NEW SUBUNIT. performed for venues that hosted about 40,000 people each. HOWEVER, the amount of people that APPLIED for tickets was around 600,000. I also believe Sana was one of the most googled persons in Japan this last year lol
Also, I highly recommend the 'A helpful guide to Twice (2022)' By Minguinmina. It covers more about the girls individual personalities while also give short teasers to the B-sides to highlight their vocals!

I still remember how a lot of people on Twitter (X) made fun of the girls when they announced they were going to perform at SOFI/Metlife and said things like “there would be a lot of empty seats, they should’ve picked a smaller venue” but ONCES came through and sold those places out immediately, making all the haters eat their words.
Now you can see the significance of when Momo & Sana visited the girls in NiziProject and all the girls were so geeked out cuz Twice is what everyone thinks of first when “JYPE” is ever mentioned in todays Kpop scene.

The one stop for the Tour in the U.S is actually just their encore.
They already toured a bunch of states last year.

@@SerenityReacts Yeah, TWICE performed in 9 US cities (a few venues for 2 days each): LA (SoFi Stadium), Oakland, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, New York (Metlife Stadium), Atlanta and 1 Canadian city (Toronto). Outside of North America, they went to East Asia, Europe, Central and South America to boot.

It's natural to be overwhelmed after knowing more about TWICE. I'm glad you picked this guide to start with because it does give you a broader information of the group.
To answer your question, TWICE already did their US leg with 9 stops last year, including Canada (majority of which they had 2 days each stop due to demand). They have 3 parts for the tour from different continents.
The show in Las Vegas next month, the one you're going to, is sort of like an 'encore' concert. Luckily, you'll hear new first performances since TWICE is having a comeback tomorrow. New setlist, perhaps.
And, yes, for your other question, I do agree that Jihyo is the best vocalist of the group. As you continue to deep dive in their discography, you'll also discover that all members are vocalists.

TWICE is not just the pillar & saver of jype but they are the essence of the company&their artists success&growth cause they are literally the model/reference used for all the artists debuting after them; from applying divisions independent management for gps because of the sucess of the 1st division in jype which was managing TWICE to them debiting global groups working on the TW model for them after TW break through & impact in the said markets/industries;So u keep feeling simalirities between the other groups & their big senior/sister gp TWICE that opened the door for all their follower idols under jype (& even in kpop)

So, for a little more context about Twice's songs after this video was posted: we had the EP " Ready To Be " followed by Twice's 5th World Tour , then we had Hare Hare ( jp ) and then we moved on to the mini album "Masterpiece " by J-line ( Momo , Mina & Sana ) , after 1 or 2 months we had Jihyo's solo, with a mini album , with two feats ( and an English version of the title track "Killin Me Good " ) and at the end of the year we had another Japanese comeback ! "Dance Again " . Now in 2024 , we had I Got You as a pre-release for the EP " With You-Th " with the title track " One Spark " ! ( we also had remix albums! one of Ready To be, which doesn't really count as an album, The Remixes and a more recent one with remixes of I Got You! )

I'm glad your giving Twice a chance, i personally love their sisterhood, it really does seem to be a genuine and very strong bond. Chaeyoung's Tattoos were originally covered quite often but now-a-days they seem to only be covered during Korean Shows like on MNET probably because of the negative public perception of tattoos in Korea (at least that's what i hear). You mentioned Twice having one US stop but I think its because your catching Twice at the end of their tour they actually spent like three months in the summer touring in the US in 2023 then they went to Europe, Phillipines, Singapore, Mexico, Brazil etc... and now they are i believe finishing up in Las Vegas but who knows i thought the tour was supposed to end in October but they kept throwing extra locations and dates.

I went through a process like you, I didn't know Twice and I watched SIXTEEN, and after I finished it I loved Twice very much :)) I really didn't know them, I didn't know their songs, but I knew them, I saw their personalities while watching SIXTEEN.. (like in NiziProject or A2K)... and when I saw their success, I was very impressed and very happy, those timid, anxious rookie children. It still makes me emotional that he achieved such success. And I became their fan with the album "Eyes Wide Open", I always say that "EYES WİDE OPEN"album is my first love, "FORMULA OF LOVE" album is my last love and if I am going to cheat on them, its name is "TASTE OF LOVE".
I’ve only known about kpop for a couple years. I started with stray kids and then black pink. And then a2k came about and I was like hmmm. What if I started a TH-cam channel on this. And I’m so very grateful and happy I did! The rabbit hole I’ve been lead down has been amazing!

Most would agree god Jihyo is the best vocalist in Twice. A more controversial one would be Jeongyeon vs Nayeon as they are close but have different strengths.
i went to the atlanta show they did on this current tour and it was truly one of the best nights of my life, they are easily the greatest performers i have ever seen. cant wait to see you discover more about the girls!

The Japanese market is where the big money is.
It’s kinda like Canada vs US. Canadian singers have to be successful in the US too to really be considered as having made it.
The success of Twice’s J-line and their big hits in Japan are why NiziU was born. And lots of other groups like Le Sserafim have added Japanese members to help promote and tour. (Japanese ability is arguably more important than English)
Japan is the second biggest music market in the world.

The one Las Vegas stop this year is just an encore of their 5th world tour which started last year. They did 11 shows in 8 different cities and 6 states in just the US alone.

As mentioned in the comments below, TWICE has already performed in several cities in the US for this ongoing Tour. They were the first to perform and sell out So-Fi (KPOP GG) and Met-Life Stadiums, among other large to medium-sized venues. The upcoming Vegas Concert is their US Encore for the Tour. They also did several huge shows in Japan, I believe 6 shows but are returning to perform an Encore in a much larger Stadium.
I believe not just as kpop gg but as the first female act and the first girl group to sell out and perform in SoFi while first kpop female act in Met Life Stadium. Same goes with Allianz Parque (40k+ cap.) in Brazil and Nissan Stadium (70k+ cap.) in Japan, first kpop girl group to sell out and perform.
I didn’t realize encore was a thing but I’m very grateful for it!! With what I’ve learned so far I’m not surprised!
Jihyo is probably the best mix of vocal strength and also vocal flexibility, although all the members of 3mix (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo) are regarded as the vocal core of the group. Mina is also highly regarded vocally.

Best Shows to watch to start your deep dive would be Twice's "Seize the Light" (you can watch this on your own time as YT might not allow this to be posted) then start with their YT safe reality show/s "Time To Twice". Japanese tracks that are probably safe for YT would be "Perfect World" and MiSaMo's "Do not Touch". Jihyo's "Killing Me Good" and Nayeon's "Pop" and their respective albums is a good start as well. TWICE is a rabbit hole with loads of content that may be overwhleming to begin with but really satisfying once you get into it. Again, just enjoy the journey! 😁🥰

This tour which started last year was extended. They just went to Mexico and performed before TWO sold out shows with over 57k and those lucky ONCE's got to hear the first live performance of I Got You, then they went to Brazil for 2 more show's now they come to Vegas to perform for 65k ONCE's and you and I (yes I'm going as well, oddly my first concert for a ONCE of five years), where hopefully we'll get to hear the first live performance of One Spark which releases in about 30 minutes of this writing. As to Jihyo her nickname for us ONCE's is god Jihyo so yea she is the most powerful of the singers, Nayeon stans will tell you she is and I won't argue range but for pure power Jihyo, and for us Jeongyeon fans we want to say she is but since she is who she is, which means she gives everything to the other members including her lines, we only have small sound bites but I think she can do anything the other two can but can't prove it and even then Jihyo pure power. They have to much content for you to catch up in a month but since your going to the concert check the Ready to Be album Twice B-sides are the magic of Twice so it should help when you go to the concert. Twice has rarely followed JYP rules he was busy with Straykids and especially Itzy so they did what they wanted, Chae actually cut her hair without permission as well with no repercussions. Since they just renewed their contracts they have branched out into brand ambassadors so I would guess they have as much freedom to do what they like as could be expected of a group coming up on their 9th anniversary. OT9 forever.
I think how long they have been a group speaks for itself. I feel like them having so much freedom and individualism now may be the biggest part for them to still be a group. How exciting that you will be there too! So many people who watch my videos will be there and that’s exciting in itself! I’ve never been to a concert of this size and of this popularity. I definitely have lots of songs to listen to and videos to watch before going!

Jihyo being best singer (it gets ambiguous after the top 3) and Momo best dancer is pretty unanimously agreed. Their U.S. success is likely why VCHA is in their division and opening for them. The reason it's just Vegas is because this is the tail end of the tour and they've already run through the US with this material in 2023.
If you're not done with guides, I agree with people bringing up "Helpful Guide to Twice". It's not a produced documentary like this, but it's a nice companion because it gives rapid-fire first-hand examples of skills/personalities/quirks/memes/funny bits instead of just summarizing it, which might endear you to them more than this did. The song-writing thing might be misleading. I don't think the members wrote any of the hits with music videos, they just cut their teeth on a lot of B-Sides and album tracks.
For future reactions, can't really go wrong with doing the rest of the Korean Singles chronologically (only about 10 left)-- it's all pretty consistent (the Japanese ones are more inconsistent, IMO). Would recommend doing "I Got You" last before the concert because it feels a bit like an emotional culmination of their career.

Even though it's a harsh show I still highly recomend watching Sixteeen, it helps you appreciate more their growth and the relationship the girls have and knowing not only the final members but also their close bond and achivements makes you feel so proud of them ^^
I also recomend watching the documentary series Twice Seize the Light (2019) for the same reasons

So didn’t pass the opportunity and went to Sydney 1st then they came back to Melbourne and was lucky again my cousins gave me bday tickets for New York! jihyo is actually the best vocalist in twice, the video does not properly showcase her, nayeon or jeongyeon vocal ability.
They didn’t have one stop in the US lol. Vegas is a bonus stop. They had a tour across the US: SoFi stadium, MetLife stadium, and multiple baseball stadiums and arenas included. All of it sold out.
I didn’t realize! But since I didn’t know them before it doesn’t surprise me that I didn’t know. Now that I do though it makes sense! I didn’t realize encore was even a thing.

Jeongyeon has my favorite voice to Listen to, but I would say that Jihyo is the best singer.
She has the widest range, strongest power, and best technique (according to people with more expertise than I have).
While I do think Jihyo has the most versatile singing ability, my personal favorite tones are Jeongyeon (rich and full) and Tzuyu (who’s made notable improvements over the years). All the girls seem to have developed (or been shaped into) distinct vocal roles for their songs, and I think I’d miss their contributions to the overall “color” of the group if any of them were removed.

Jihyo became the leader because she was a trainee for 10 years.
Jihyo was an introvert during her trainee years, so she was only close to Nayeon and Jeongyeon. She was not close to other trainees
But other members chose her as the leader because they respect her

I watched this guide a while ago. It has at least one flaw worth mentioning: Jihyo was in fact voted to be in the Leader spot but not ALL of the girls voted for her. I don't have the actual numbers, just that Jihyo won more votes than anybody else. Jeongyeon (the 'mom' of the group and the one who volunteers at the animal shelters) came in second-place.
See that’s what I had thought because in nizi project 2 jyp said that that was the first group for EVERYONE to vote for the same person.

- SIXTEEN is an interesting watch to see the members' interactions tbh, but it indeed is rough in other aspects. It has great performances and *incredible* teamwork though
- Jihyo is the main vocalist. Personally i think she definitely has the most *powerful* voice but "best vocalist" entails other things for me and i think it's kind of a futile discussion when it comes to TWICE but i know many ONCEs would disagree w me on that
- Not gonna get too into it but i personally still don't see how Fancy was such a huge turn in their sound or lyrically or whatever. The main changes were the wardrobe and the stage presence ig, and it was a much less jarring "change" than some other back to back releases.. but *again* many ONCEs would disagree w me on that 😭 I'd argue the only thing that actually changed when Fancy dropped was how non-ONCEs would speak about the group
- I also hate the "they're not just kpop idols, they're global artists!" sentiment lmao but yeah they're huge and they've been huge for a minute now
This was good for me to watch since I also don't know most of their names & overflowing achievements. 🙀 I first learned of Momo & Sana from Nizi Project 1 (when they were guest judges), then saw & got entranced by Dahyun's funny dancing from when I started watching Sixteen. (I couldn't find episode 3 so I stopped. 😅)
🏟 Since they sell out 50,000-seat stadiums within "minutes," maybe it's about time they hit up bigger venues. 😅
I don't know how much bigger they can get though. Like they are quite literally already selling out lots of stadiums and arenas haha. Maybe if this album does well, they'll do a 6th world tour! Who knows

Regarding the "I didn't realise they were so big" assumption, I personally feel like everyone knew TWICE was the biggest kpop girlgroup around ~2017. Since the beginning I was a fan of the Red velvet and some of the other larger kpop girl groups during that era so I believe I have a more objective look since I gradually became a Once, transitioning from a multifan.
A certain fandom(among others) of a group consisting of two colours would go out of their way to slandering twice, anyone listening to twice or otherwise being affiliated with them. Things such as " XX is actually the bigger kpop group, didn't you see how much views their MV got" and "anyone listening to Twice are just listening to children's lullabies" became the norm. These fans completely rewrote history and if you listened to twice at the time, it would not surprise me if you kept it a secret...
No matter what Twice did, hate seemed to follow. This narrative spread since then and it was just recently that I started to question the "facts" the other fandom has actively been spreading. Articles on fraudulent votes gave me a clue as to why the records of the other group became so hard to beat and more info on how streaming farms worked suddenly gave a lot of clarity. Then shocking news of a so called "s1ave room" appeared before me (annielovehappen on x has a thread regarding this from 2 years ago) and suddenly things started to make more sense. Their scandals such as Tzuyus flag incident or Jihyo and Minas football team departure were both fanned on by this smear campaign. It really is unbelievable how some people on this earth acts smh. They were blackmailing children to write hateful comment saying how upset "once" were with twice.
just wanted to add, ofc I know their success is warranted (was a fan myself) just that a tiny percent on their huge numbers can be traced to manipulation (ex GMA voting scandal) and this put a dent in my trust in the company handling them.

So the first girl group I ever knew was black pink. And I just know they was huge in the states. I never like did research but they have a handful of videos that have over a billion views and so I was just thinking they was on the level of twice. I feel like this is a weird assumption.
They came here to Mexico and Brasil also in this tour. When me and my brothers tried to buy the tickets to their concert on the Foro Sol, in Mexico, we got so Lucky getting in the line at 3k place and then later we heard that the line went to 100k and for that they had to open a second day show.
When we went to the concert we got to see "I got you" since got released just a day before the shows in Mexico started, and damn we were blesed, that song became a pretty significant song for us and we got to experience the best concert of our lives.

There was a guide many years ago also stating jihyo was voted unanimously, what they meant was anonymously. Jeongyeon and Nayeon also got votes, just for clarity. I think it's the same guide as most of this script is inspired by.
