If the joists are already level, do I need the furring strips?

I’d love to see a how-to for installing these over a vaulted ceiling. Found you through Houzz, thanks!

Love this! I wonder if they sag over the years...?

You said that the last row of ferring strips should be 2 inches from the wall, yours are not. In fact it is right up against the wall.

is it accessible? do you need to dismantle all the planks should you want to maintain light fittings?

I like how easy it is to install the ceiling planks on flanks. However, I have a hard time finding the clips mentioned on this video. Any tips for part# or reference name of it?

On the Armstrong website the instructions say to run the furring strips perpendicular to the joists, am I missing something? They run parallel to the joists in this video right?

It actually said they could run either way -- perpendicular or parallel. Odd that it doesn't say that on the site.

Where do you buy the clips at?

Why can't Classic Country Classic planks be installed directly on the joist with clips

So you can't glue or brad nail this product to the ceiling? I have a 1955 house and the ceiling in my kitchen is not drywall but a composite plastic hard as a rock like ceiling. A screw holds very good in it. But all the talk about expansion makes it seem like it wont work. I live in Florida and AC is always on. I would like to attach it directly as interfacing the ceiling lights and ac ceiling vent to a dropped ceiling seems like a nightmare.
And i dont see any of there videos addressing it.....

3/4 in gap at the end is required? That’s massive, trim options are going to be far and few between.

    • @jbird68
      @jbird68 ปีที่แล้ว

That's what I was thinking. I'm only putting up 3/8" thick trim boards. That's not going to cover the gap.

I am having a hard time finding this product. Homedepot and Lowes no longer carry these.

You should use bamboo since it is abundant in your region.

Can u pls explain the math because i don't understand why step 4 is needed in this calculation

If you’re referring to step 4 “Add 5” to the result” we recommend doing this so your border pieces are a larger width. Otherwise, you might end up with a tiny border piece that might be hard cut and screw up to the joist.

      @@ArmstrongResCeilings The resulting coverage is 34 boards at 5" = 170" PLUS 2 boards at 4" each: Total = 178"
