Excellent video, thanks. I want a couple to make a container for a few needles and thread, as an emergency travel sewing kit; these are perfect. An order is now winging its way to you.
I have a couple of gouges with shorter handles.i watched snooker players screwing a short extension on to the end of their cue when needing to lengthen it.This seems a good way to lengthen my gouge handles.
Is the threading such that you will always get a whole multiple of 360 degrees when rotating the ends? Ie, if you're trying to get a seamless joint in a strong grain, would it be as easy as marking both parts with a pen, and then ensuring that the marks are lined up when setting the brass into the wood?
I have just tried it about 6 times in different positions and it always seems to end up in the same position, I have tested with a small piece of tape and it always seems to end up in the same position wherever it is started. It's not very easy to check so I can't guarantee it 100%
