Rumor has it that Dick Winkles and his folks at SRT tried many different VVT-strategies (adjusting inlet and not exhaust timing), but they were quite surprised when they found out that variable inlet doesn't have many pros ... exhaust timing on the other hand allowed them to keep the emissions in check AND two burst open the gates to hell :-D
