  • Why is Marmaris such a popular holiday resort in Turkey?
There are certainly plenty of hotels to choose from to suit all budgets.
The beach is long and sandy next to a long promenade lined with small bars and restaurants.
During the summer season it becomes a lively buzzing resort filled with tourists.
The last time we were in Marmaris was over 12 years ago, so we decided to pay it a visit to see if it had changed!
We were amazed just how much it had!
With hotels offering great value, the sea and guaranteed sunshine for most of the summer in Turkey, perhaps the resort of Marmaris could be the perfect holiday hotspot waiting for you!?
This was filmed when some lockdown restrictions were in place at the end of April 2021.
Don’t forget to like, subscribe and hit the notification bell to catch our future films.

The Turkish Government should employ you both as joint Tourism Ambassadors for Turkey.
You do such an amazing job in showcasing every little corner of this beautiful country!
Whilst watching,I almost feel like getting inside my I-Pad just to be where you guys are filming.
Can’t thank you enough for the work you do to keep us entertained, especially during COVID.

We made our first holiday in Turkey in 1982 - stayed in Icmeler where there was only one (!) hotel called MARTI. Exploring the region by car we were overwhelmed by the warm welcome everywhere and fell in love with the country and its friendly people. Some waiters in Marti were from DALYAN - we went together to their village - and the rest is "history". Until today this beautiful place, now a town, is my "second home" which I dream of while living on the banks of the Lower Rhine...

Wow. how nice to go to Dalyan in 1982, when it was not discovered at all. I was 6 years old in 1984, when my father was working for a science project. And for two weeks we stayed in a brown university cottage at the beach, where lake and sea water joins. At night we were alone by ourselves and lots of blue crabs.

I ended up here unplanned last summer when my holiday to the caribbean got cancelled due to the pandemic. I was booked to go to the Dominican Republic where i have i been going for several years now but when the pandemic shut down travel there was only limited destinations we could go and Turkey was one of them. The travel agent recommended it to me and told me how good turkey was because its not somewhere i had ever planned to go before or knew anything about so i thought ok i will try it and i booked headed off to marmaris and i really loved it and it was so much better than i thought it would be and it was the one positive of the pandemic. My first love is still the caribbean though because nothing beats it for me but for short haul turkey is the place and i prefer it to spain thats for sure.

It’s been many years since we went to Marmaris. It was our very first time in Turkey. Since then we have been back so many times over the years. We love the people, the food, and the wonderful towns and countryside.
We are hoping to be there by mid June for a month in Calis, let’s hope Turkey’s virus numbers come down, and they get vaccinating! The U.K. has put Turkey in the red zone, we are praying that it turns to amber if not green!
So many Brits are trying to get to Turkey for a wonderful holiday.

I spend 18 days traveling all over Turkey in June/July 2019. Each city are unique, I love all of it. It was very difficult to leave the blue & white Rhodes having just spend 5 days there. Some of the bars and restaurants now are like Benidorm, it's a pity because the area is so beautiful, I wish we could go back to how it was. In 1995 we visited Marmaris, our first visit to Turkey,we stayed in an apartment at the very back of town it was a 10 minute walk from the front.Move on to a few years ago and we were staying in Calis and were invited by a Turkish friend of my son to visit his apartments in Marmaris for a few days.We went by bus and as we got to the road going down into Marmaris we were amazed to se that the whole of the valley below us was filled with buildings. We decided to go for a walk from the apartment to the front. After walking for about 15 minutes we decided to get a dolmus,it took another 20 minutes to get to the front. We couldn't believe just how huge Marmaris had become.

As a Turk, i can say that in every single city in Turkey has a different atmosphere. some cities are really empty and boring. some cities are colorful and shining. Different vibes in each city... I guess living in a country caught between east and west is a little different.

Wow! I had a such a good time at the Begonville hotel! There are a lot of things I could say about Begonville hotel and the city of Marmaris! It would be a long list, but to spare you the time I'll keep it short.
    1. Service: phenomenal! Definetely 4 stars. I can even say it says it's 4 stars on 4 paper, , but I experienced it as a 5 star hotel.
    2. Food: A very good, authentic and acurate representation of the Turkish cuisine. fun fact: every Turkish city/ region has it's own distinctive food and dishes and the Begonville hotel is a good example of representing all of these regional dishes.
    3. Beach: it has its own private beach! So you won't be disturbed and can enjoy a good swim and get a nice tan.
Looking forward to next year already!
    Very kind regards!
