I’m looking for a performance shortboard that is easy to ride, goes well in small conditions but can also hold a more solid surf (I want to fill the gap between my neckbeard3 and the SD Gamma, having a performance shortboard that could be versatile). Huge thanks for all the amazing contents you are doing, sincerly 🙏 One question: The New Flyer (now quite old :) ) having also an aggressive entry/exit rocker (both staged) & a strong double-concave, do you think that the feeling we can find on this Two Happy could be a bit similar to the sensations we had on the New Flyer ? (saying that because I had once a magical New Flyer and searching for a slightly updated version of this NF)
Not really… the NF and Twi Happy surfing nothing alike. I personally like the Happy Everyday way better compared to the two models you are talking about. The Happy ED is faster, more versatile and easier to shred in 2-6’ surf.
Many thanks Noel it helps me a lot ☺️ I’ll need one last recommendation between HE and NB3… My choice will now be reduced to Happy ED or NB3: both having similar programs isn’t it? (Happy ED having slightly more rocker so being slightly more versatile if I’ve understood your reviews correctly?) I’m more ‘back footed’ :) Thank you.
Phantom has less rocker overall so it paddles better and has more glide. The Phantom’s wide point is front of center with more foam under your chest and it likes to carve. Two Happy is a HPSB…. You need to keep it moving to generate speed, it will surf the pocket better with the ability for more critical turns. I personally like the Phantom better out of these two boards. If you are a intermediate to advanced surfer go Phantom. If you are a advanced to expert level surfer go Fever or Driver 2.0
