Polyphony Digital loved Feeder from GT1-GT4. I wonder what happened. "Decompress" could've easily been on the GT7 soundtrack.

That end shot with the cars blasting past and around the corner into the distance with the feedback of the guitar dragging out is nothing short of amazing. Game was a MASTERPIECE
Younglings today will never understand what kind of step-up the PS2 was compared to the PS1. Playing GT3 after GT2 felt like the game is photorealistic, i remember how amazed i was about the cars lighting back in the day. Im really happy that i could experience this time era of gaming and Gran Turismo 3 will probably be forever my favorite game about racing.

2001 was a long time ago. I think is difficult for people who didn't played this at the time to really appreciate what this game meant at the time. Coming from GT2, this was a HUGE step up. Everything about the game was magical - even the menus with several videos playing at the same time in the background. Everything felt new and fresh. Very good soundtrack, insane graphics, very good gaming physics for the time. And it played on the very cool PS2, with awesome design, even the menus were very cool. It truly was groundbreaking game, in a groundbreaking system. Nothing came close. Oh, and the intro - for me the best :)
One of the most shocking if not the most shocking upgrade I've seen in gaming when it comes to graphics. This was insane at that time and truly felt like a jump towards modern gaming. I owned a ps1 at that time and went to visit my father on vacation and when he started up GT 3 i was speechless. There was no question in getting a PS2 after seeing what it was capable of. Towards the end of the xbox and ps 2 era i remember the conker remake(live and reloaded) and Black looked so damn good for that gen. The PS 3 and Xbox 360 jump was quite noticeable, but from PS 1 to PS 2 was incredible.
Compared to the first two games on ps1, this felt like two generation leap at the time to me.

This brings back so many memories. I remember loving the intro to #2 with The Cardigans and being blown away, but then came the PS2 and #3 and just said "Hold my beer".
I had no idea who Feeder was at that point, but I knew I loved the song so had to buy the CD single. But the visuals as well were just amazing, and the footage mixed with such an upbeat song really gave that feeling of speed.
Watching it back and seeing those classic rally liveries of the Scooby, Evo and Corolla just bring so many great memories of the 90s to mind. A few DTM cars thrown in for good measure.
It would be amazing to see some of these classics brought back to the series.

The graphics on this have held up tremendously well for a near 25 year old game.
This was the game that kickstarted a whole new generation of sim racers; it proved what was possible and is the spiritual parent of pretty much every modern track-based sim racer.

Gran Turismo 3 was my first PlayStation 2 game around 22 years ago & the in-game Intro theme song used to be my favourite song when I was Little

Got 96.4% through this game. All that was left was a handful of S class golds and the 24hr endurance races.

This is my childhood! I can literally see myself sitting on the floor and watching this magnificent intro on my square TV back in 2001, what a time this was guys…
Nowadays you easily underestimate what this game meant in terms of graphics as it’s so old now. Coming from GT2 on PS1 at the time, this leap was INSANE. Huge jump generation wise and easily the best looking racing game at the time, if not the best looking game of them all. I remember playing this for the first time and the way my jaw dropped to the floor watching a replay for the first time. It was otherworldly.

I remember seeing this intro at my friend's place back then my mom couldn't afford to get me a PS2 and from that moment I told myself I will work hard in life just to be able to buy and play this game and all others in the future. Fast forward, I now own a PS5 with GT7 as my flagship game

Good memories of playing this back in 2003 after getting home from primary school. Was fortunate enough to have been introduced to GT at such an early age thanks to me Dad. Needless to say growing up with this game made me fall in love with cars and racing. We go to track days and weekend drives a lot and it all started with this game. Love it!
