It is true that they are not theologically sound, there are several videos explaining their theology which is at odds with scripture, best example is a video I found that proclaims why my church no longer sings bethel, hillsong and elevation music, I forget the pastor's name I will find it and bring it back to you I don't know how to post these links on my phone
The pastor's name is David henneke and he gives a very good explanation and backs it with proof, watch the entire video and judge for yourself

Wow. This is such a powerful song that is biblically accurate and based on sound doctrine.. May God preserve this group. It's refreshing not having to analyze lyrics all the time when worshipping
I'm so grateful that CityAlight puts out this music. A lot of Christian music these days don't line up to what the Bible says. They simply put Jesus in the front and if He is in the front, nothing else matters.
I met God in my darkest times.I have sinned but He pulled me out of misery and made me understand His ways and plan for me. I am very blessed to know Him and I do hope I can share His words to others be a living testimony of His love for us.. God bless everyone.. 😇

I'm not a musician, but it is the wonder of what I believe is called meter. This is why many hymns can be sung with different hymn tunes. A favorite is When I Survey the Wonderous Cross. It has at least 4 tunes that it can be sung too, including an African tribal. Another fun example is Amazing Grace sung to the tune of The House of the Rising Sun. @@owencameron-hayes2838 yes I understand meter but this is even more than that. The melody of “Tis so sweet” fits within the chord structure of this song. So you can actually sing the original melody of “‘tis so sweet” with this song with no modifications. It’s pretty cool!
I could sing along perfectly by the second listen, the lyrics offer a deep appreciation for the work of Christ, and my soul was stirred by the music. I thank God for Cityalight.

I've said it once and ill say it again, I LOVE THIS BAND, rich with good and sound doctrine and not just filled with "fuzzy feeling emotions" its not exactly the modern "christian" music you hear from other so called christian bands. Its so unique in its expression of words and music that actually is good for the spirit and not just our feelings.
In fact, these types of songs do make you feel good but only if you meditate on the words that are sung and connect it to scripture, and its an easy connection too, since the words are filled with sound doctrine

I completely agree. I used to be a very avid "Prosperity gospel" believer because I was led astray by my old pastor. After I went on a journey and then learned of all the garbage that I once believed was not true, I not only flipped and changed everything I believed to be Bible centered beliefs, I also now can't stand "christian" music anymore that is not theologically sound. I cant listen to anything anymore unless it is theologically correct lyrics.

When I watched this song with 109 other who watched it premiere I knew this song was amazing. 6 months later and I still continue to come back here and listen to this song every day. @@HonkeyHero18 I think he means some of the percussions could sound a bit like contemporary secular music but when all the components are put together it sounds like a hymn, which typically have a rich history to them (hymns).

Quoting an unbeliever is dangerous. The man you quote did not teach Christ or the words that make this music minister to the children of God saved by the blessed Sacrifice.
