Imagine playing with this toy as a kid in the 90s. I would never get bored. I still collect the legacy versions and soul of chogokin megazords and a few deluxe versions too. I still have my inner child spirit. Cool video bro.
I got mine for less than $300. Around Christmastime last year, Amazon was doing a sale. Amazon had knocked $50 off the price and I saved an additional $25 because of the gift card my mother got me for Christmas. The gift card covered the price of shipping, so I could get the fastest shipping possible and shipping still didn't cost me anything. In all, I paid $250 for my SOC Megazord and I'm really happy with it. It's the best representation of the original MMPR Megazord that we have ever had and I don't think there will be anything that will top this release.
The updated T-rex is my favorite thing about this figure. The original just doesn't look like a worthy match or companion for dragonzord, whereas this new T-Rex displays perfectly with dragonzord.
Just bought it because of this video! I wasn’t sure which one to go with at first but after watching this video it was pretty clear to go with the soc version
+Hassan Ahmed: Soul of Chokogin have released a Megazord a couple of years back under their Super Robot Chokogin division, so, technically, this isn't the line's first foray into Power Rangers. This is more like the first large, transformable, proper Soul of Chokogin Megazord. All said, swings and roundabouts, really. The GX-72 is certainly a beauty. :)
This thing is AMAZING! I was blessed to be able to pick one up but as you said it is not cheap but it is one of the centerpieces of my Power Rangers collection. Also, I believe this is the first and only SOC release that has a box printed in English and not Japanese. The previous release the SOC GX-71 Voltron had an English outer sleeve but this whole box is in English. Enjoy and thanks for the review.
i just realized for sabertooth and triceratops that the side design are acronyms for their zords with S T for sabertooth and TRI TP for triceratops! i know mastodon always had the M but i never noticed for the previous two! and there litte T on rexs chest and the Ps on the pterodactyl!

The light is much better it actually looks very professional and very bright and it actually makes everything shine. You should use this type of lighten in all of your Videos from now on, (Duh)

This is amazing! I just got this and in videos it doesn't do it justice. The weight feels so premium. I have a small question. On my arms the right side clicks when moved up/down and the left one doesn't? Is this normal? I'm guessing so as maybe the right needs it to click to support the mammoth sheild and the left is more posable with the sword

@Hasan Ahmed. I take it you a big Power Rangers fan. I am a Power Rangers fan too. Dont you find it frustrating that...bandai/hasbro has constantly given us inarticulate bricks for megazords, for decades, even with seasons where the individual zords are just vehicles. The transformation sequence is usually MUCH simpler than transformers, yet they refuse to give the toys proper articulation. I mean...look at the original turbo megazord....its just cars for zords ! Yet they couldnt make the megazord articulated ?
I love this megazord, but what really troubles me about this one, the arms of the sabertooth tiger zord was suppose to be bent in, not kept out I believe

Hassan Ahmed I can't wait to see how they improve this one over the Legacy version. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes and make the feet able to clip into the legs for the transformations. And maybe use diecast in parts other than the feet so they're not so heavy and cumbersome. To be honest, seeing so many people having issues with that turned me off of the Legacy release, especially since it was at the same price point as this one

This release of the megazord proves without a doubt that the standard mecha/zord bricks we've been getting from bandai Japan and America with no improvement in 35 plus years is 100% unjustified especially the legacy line for damn near the same price! I'm not asking for this level of articulation, detail or any die cast just and extra swivel or 2 somewhere, hopefully hasbro gives us at least leader class articulation!

Correct. The Daizyujin is just the Japanese release, but they are completely identical. Buy whichever you can find cheaper, if you don't care about the different packaging.
With the SOC Triceratops, does the neck, where it attaches between the shoulders, move side to side like it does on the Saber Tooth Tiger? Also, how does the SOC Megazord compare to the Super Mini Pla version, in relation to the overall articulation and posability? I recently purchased the Super Mini Pla version on Amazon and should be getting it by the end of January. I'll also be getting the Dragonzord from the same line to go with it, so that I can make the Mega Dragonzord. I had the original Megazord back in the 90's, but never had the Dragonzord, so it'll be fun to see them together at last in my collection. It's been about 20 years since I had the original Megazord, so it'll be interesting to see how it all goes together, considering how you actually have to build all the Zords from kit form. Great review, by the way. Rather long, but very informative. :D
Yes, the Triceratops can move its head side to side like the Sabertooth Tiger. Not sure how it compares to the Super Mini Pla version, since I don't have that. Generally speaking, I think the Mini Pla items have pretty good articulation. However, the SOC Megazord has a ton of articulation, so I'd be a little surprised personally if the Super Mini Pla had the same. They're also planning on releasing a SOC Dragonzord, so I'll be getting that when it releases, but I'm passing on the Super Mini Pla versions myself.

Yeah titanus is coming out next year in April. I just got the soc dragonzord just need this. I tried combing it with my original 93 megazord but didnt work. The feet fit but not enough to snug it bc when u moved it the feet fell and the mastodon part u put around it wouldnt even fit to big so i have to wait to combine it now.

The Legacy versions and Soul of Chogokin versions are not compatible with each other.
