Saw him at the Tulsa County Fair in the early 80's with Waylon. He opened the show by coming out bare chested and fired a 12 ga. round in the air, and proceeded to play a solo on every single instrument on the stage including drums and saxaphone, ending by sliding his boots up and down the keyboard. I think it cost me $5.00 to get in......by far the best $5.00 I had, or will ever spend in my life.
I went to see him in May of 1985 at the Charlotte Coliseum in Charlotte North Carolina Hank is a loyal Southerner and Southern brother and believe in our second amendment rights

This was back when Hank stayed straight tore up. He did some terrible live concerts but he did some awesome ones as well. He was tore up in this one.

Kevin Ray no better concert ever back in the 80s than a Hank show he was incredible 2.5 hrs strong he played his ass off every instrument on stage he played
All depends on how drunk and high he was ...hank was always hit and miss ..if he had a little buzz he was fire but if he was shit faced drunk it was horrible I saw him once knock his drummer out with a bottle of whiskey that hank threw at him... it connected with his drummers forehead that one was a very short concert but hank is a legend and it was always fun at his shows regardless if he played a hour and a half or ten minutes
I've seen him twice. Spilled alot of beer both times. I'm from the hills of the Ozarks. Love it.

This has to be the biggest and best festival in U.S history, put on by Steve Wozniak of Apple fame. There were actually two US Festivals one in Sept. 82', (Labor Day) and this one with the fourth day being country day in May & June of 83'( Memorial Day weekend) day 1.) Sat.28th. was New Wave day , Sun.29 was Heavy Metal Day, Mon. 30 was Rock Day. And then Sat. June 4th. was Country day. They kept everything during the holiday and on the following weekend so everybody could attend and party without missing any work and they could draw a larger crowd to offset some of the expenses of the 24 million dollar lose for both Festivals combined. I would have been at this Festival had I rotated back to the States from Japan in time, I didn't make it back until June 12th. of 83'. I think Triumph was one of the better performances on the second day of the Festival (Heavy Metal day) with Quite Riot, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Scorpions and Van Helen.
