Love the VXF series! I personally think the EVL's are a bit overrated, but they are a good starter sub for sure. You should feel a big difference with the new subs, box, and amp! Congratulations on the dope upgrades!

Love skar subs. I have 1 18" ZVX with 2 - VXF 12's all at one ohm in my expadition and they pound big time. I can hit over 144 dbs and i only have the bass knob set at 3/4 not full blast and that's for 2 reasons. 1- you don't need it any louder. 2 - I want it to last several year's ! Folks can here me 3 blocks away. Be prepared to shack everything in your vehicle cuz your fixing to hear things rattle inside that you never heard before you install these bad boys. Well worth every penny trust me....
@@rmh5102 I'm using a crescendo 8k at 1ohm. Now that all the subs are broke in and everything is adjusted out right I hit a 152db at 29htz. It's a beast. It blows my old system away for sure. 4-15in L7 Kicker

Not much. You'll get more excursion so it'll play a tad louder. Won't play much lower. Bigger motor slightly so you'll get maybe a tad bit more power out of it but the difference isn't huge
@@bassbrother101 When you say "3k rms" what do you mean by that? Because "RMS" should mean it can play a sine wave tone all day long, otherwise that defeats the purpose of an RMS measurment. Ovbiously it can take 3k, but for how long? I HIGHLY DOUBT it can take a constant sine wave at 3000 watts.
I had 2 compR 12inch kickers 500RMS each =to 1000watts max power.. took it out of my car and replaced it with 1 12in SKAR VXF D4 nd man this shits subs louder then both and more!also got a new box of SKAR ...awesome
The evl actually holds its own self. If you tune the enclosure to 32hz and make sure you counter box rise then you will definitely bang. My sdr12 bangs so hard for what it is because my enclosure is almost perfect for it. The vfx is definitely an spl subwoofer but the evl is a mix of both

The evl has a 3" American made black hi temp ccaw voice coil on a black anodized former and the vxf has a downgraded coil compared to the evl imo. Theoretically the evl can take tons more power. I had a single evl 12 in a 2.4 cu ft birch enclosure tuned to 31.5hz and it hit a 140.2dB on about 1500w rms. Could've been more but my seats don't fold down. At the port it was doing a 145.6dB at 32Hz.
Zvx and vxf are a whole different class then evl,vd,sd iv seen plenty of people say evl is skars sq sub iv never had the evls but iv had sd vd lots of ddx and now bumping a custom zvx 15
What do think of the zvx? How. Much power can one handle full tilt? I have an 15 hd and 15 zvx and the zvx hits harder on my taramps md 3k. I want to keep one sub for sure but I'm not sure which is a better sub as far as power handling.
Yes definitely. I also have a pair of Cadence sound WB12 subs I'm selling that are also better than the evls. Perform a lot like the VXFs. I'm selling them cheaper than the VXFs if you're interested

@@usz28 Tons of videos on it. You upgrade you stock electrical wires to 0 Guage wire. Ground from battery to chassis, power wire from alternator to battery and ground from chassis to engine. Relatively easy but sometimes tedious. Big help though.

I've had my 2 txl 18s for about 3 years now. They're 2500w rms. They get loud but just aren't that musical compared to other subs I've had like Soundqubed, psi, and Tantric. I am torn between what series to run. After this video and a couple others, I think I'm gonna do 3 vxf 15s or 4 12s. Thanks for the info.

I'm planning on building a new box but on the skar website it says the displacement of these two speakers is the exact same at 471.4 cm2 ... but looking at them next to each other I feel like there's no possible way they have the same displacement. Did you have anything different in your installation manual? I just wanna make sure my box isn't too small. Thanks

What’s the most power anyone’s thrown into a single VXF? I have 2 EVL 12s in the loaded box from Skar and I love em but it’s in my daily driver Altima so I wanna downsize to a bad ass single 12 but I also wanna up my power from an Rp2k to an SkV2-3500 I already have a 390A singer Alt under my hood
I'd reccomend a Skar RP-3500 to compliment the VXF series subs (12 or 15, doesn't matter). edit: it can hit over 4000 watts rms as seen in a youtube dyno. So it really should be named "RP-4000" lol

Absolutely agree. A good 2nd battery and big 3 will go a long way to power a 2k - 3k setup, but you will want a better alternator if your stock alt is weak. Depends on what your stock Alt puts out. If it's only 80-100 amps, you will definitely need a high output alt sooner than later.
Yeah, I'm sure no one said that. But you're not entirely right. If you have a speaker hooked up to a system, and you manually move the diaphragm of the speaker you are inducing an electrical current which is transferring the energy you put into the speaker, into electrical energy.
Dat booty on the VXF makes it look even better. I had the EVL 15s and they pounded. Now I got Fi 15s. Check out my channel I show a video on the EVLs. Keep up the great videos brother👍👍
In two more months he's gonna be selling these and buying DNRs, I don't blame you though bro I started with a 70$ Wal-Mart sub then a week later I got a 200$ Wal-Mart sub then a 300$ kicker setup then I went with two skar SDR12s to a rp1200.1d now like a month after I bought them I got two vxf12d2s on the way and a rp3500.1d
I have both the ZVX and VXF subs ( different enclosures for both obviously). The ZVX producdes more pound while the VFX produces more sound. If you are going for bass that punches your soul go with the ZVX. If you are looking for something that sounds good and slaps hard (not as hard as the ZVX though) then go with the VXF. Either way you won't be disappointed
The vxf is rated 250 watts more rms. Also different parameters and slightly larger xmax also allowing sub to play a little bit lower freq, will also allow for more air movement

He's only running 2 of them. Wire them in parallel would give 1ohm. If he ran 4 of them, it'd be .5

aren't they both rated at 2500 watts? how are they any bigger than the evls?
Vxf are 3000w max and then up from there is the zxf and the ddx

You won't. Mine are on 3k and have yet to ever smell them. But I also don't clip or anything. It's always clean

Hey I wired my vxf 12 to a 1 ohm parallel to my skar 1200 watt monoblock and I kept getting a popping sound do you know why it does that?
Clipping most likely. Check amp gain and make sure clean power Is going to it from your head unit

I used to have the rp2000. They ate it up. Go no less than 3000watts. I have a cadence sound QRS 3000.1D

If your subs are bigger, more efficient and/or the box is tuned higher, yes it'll be louder.
If more efficient subs, it'll be louder on same power. Most subs are between 82dB and 86dB.

Absolutely agree. A good 2nd battery and big 3 will go a long way to power a 2k - 3k setup, but you will want a better alternator if your stock alt is weak. Depends on what your stock Alt puts out. If it's only 80-100 amps, you will definitely need a high output alt sooner than later.

Yeah, I'm sure no one said that. But you're not entirely right. If you have a speaker hooked up to a system, and you manually move the diaphragm of the speaker you are inducing an electrical current which is transferring the energy you put into the speaker, into electrical energy.
Vxf is better and will take alot of power it's definitely worth the jump

Vxf vs zvx
I have both the ZVX and VXF subs ( different enclosures for both obviously). The ZVX producdes more pound while the VFX produces more sound. If you are going for bass that punches your soul go with the ZVX. If you are looking for something that sounds good and slaps hard (not as hard as the ZVX though) then go with the VXF. Either way you won't be disappointed

Skar subs was diffrent 3yrs ago
Bigger Frame Bigger Magnet. Same voice coil size Same woofer. Same RMS Same Max. You have to go ZVX with Skar.
The vxf is rated 250 watts more rms. Also different parameters and slightly larger xmax also allowing sub to play a little bit lower freq, will also allow for more air movement
Zvx and vxf are in the same category. Same rms. Vxf has a better conducting copper coil which is why it has the best SQ in the entire Skar lineup.
Evls are one of the worst sounding subwoofers I’ve ever heard.

I don't know man, I have the EVL amd the vxf in a 15" and my personal opinion the EVL hits you in the chest a little harder than the vxf
That's because of their midbass performance. They don't dig as low and like the punchier stuff
Agree I have 2 evl18s in solid 1 inch thick acrylic boxes and they play low! I am very happy I went with evls
