    Great work mate. Had to buy some bricks to fix my drain. Took me 20 mins to find 12 bricks that weren’t chipped up. Yes they’re less than £1 but just looks a mess when your finished!

      @@Stucrompton1 hi stu great job, can you tell me when you build a porch do you have to work to an exact size or do you have some play to work it to your bricks and half bricks etc, for example if the customer wanted a porch 3mtr by 3mtr, and that landed funny on your bricks could you just go an extra half brick to make your runs easy, cheers

    Always happens when you get less than a pack of brick. Unless you go get them you’re self and pick good ones the lads in the yard just bash them about when stacking them and the ones that people take back cause there chipped they just send them back out the next customer as well .

    To be fair, if you need 100 bricks for a job, you should be allowing 10% for wastage, damage etc.

    • @Stucrompton1
      @Stucrompton1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My point it you order 100 brick because you want 100 brick not 90

    • @niceguy235uk1
      @niceguy235uk1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry Stu, should have put "adding", not "allowing". Nice job btw.

    • @billh1471
      @billh1471 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Adding 10% on order to allow for mis-cuts or miscalculation is one thing, adding 10% because some of the bricks are damaged is another. It does not make sense unless the supplier is giving you a discount for the fact he is selling you second-class goods.
      No where else would you buy extra to allow for faulty goods. When you buy a new TV do you buy two just in case the first one doesn't work? When you buy 6 new pair of pants do you by 7 because you figure one or two might not be any good? No, you expect to get what you pay for.
