Morning Chris , looking good 👌🏼. It’s surprising how many brickies either don’t know about or can’t be arsed to check if the bricks are the right way up , especially on sites 🤔🙄🧱👍🏼
Hi Chris, Great job I've got some questions do you need a dpc behind the wall starter, I've always put my wall ties the opposite way, Is the porch single skin, Also I fix the wall starter to the brickwork rather than the joints. More importantly can you please show how you strung a line from the wall end that was clever. Thanks again.
Is there a danger of water getting in, where you put the wall tie bracket, should there be damp proofing at the back of the metal, from the ground up, just curious,
Chris, how is the timber attached too the wall that your line runs into? Be good to show that setup, how each height is marked and how.to attach the line to the timber.

Hi Chris,

Depends, good practice but for this porch I didn't bother
Is there a danger of water getting in, where you put the wall tie bracket, should there be damp proofing at the back of the metal, from the ground up, just curious,
Best practice to have the damp in place, but the reality of water penetration that would cause any problems is very slim.
Do you use any lime in your mortar mix mate?
Sometimes not on this job as it would have changed the colour of the mortar! Lime makes the mortar really workable!
Where you order your profiles from and how much ?
A local metal merchant...£50 for 4 x 8'ht Problem was one was slightly bent
I wouldn’t of put the starter bolts in the joints but I’m sure it’s fine 🔥🔫
yes true, they are in the brick the other side if you look
I need this work u need people
What about the foundations for the porch?

Good idea👍
How do I hire you Chris?
