Got the slate grey version for my dad.. quality watch and ceramic bezel makes a big difference... opted for the rubber strap also ... definitely suits it more than a steel ..
i have this watch..i wear it all the time ....i dont baby it and it takes everything i throw at it..and keeps great time..when the world ends this is the watch im taking to fight zombies
Great videography, your video really shows how beautiful the finishing on these models are. I just saw one in person today and I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the green model thanks to your video.
If they removed the date window and added a number 3, I would buy one today! Switzerland's West End Watch Co. makes an automatic diver called the Impermeable - that one's bonzer!
I'm on a 1-2 year waiting list for a Rolex Explorer and was considering bying an Omega Seamaster to enjoy while i wait, but I really like the looks of this watch so i might consider it instead.
Thanks , this was really interesting for me. It’s the area of watches I’ve been following a bit lately and I’d narrowed it down, I think, to the Oris Baikal and the Ollech and Wajs C 1000s, which are all in the same sort of ball park with regards cost. . I have a Longines already , one if the master collection models, which is beautiful and was a gift, but a very different sort of watch. This has thrown a spanner in the works again, as it’s a great looking piece .
I really want to like this watch. The specs are great, . I like the 6,9, 12 numerals( ala orient mako). the size is perfect and I like the strap options. the style is just a little too much Breitling/Invicta for my taste. It's more blingy than tool.
I have the 43mm Black ceramic version, lovely looking but bracelet needs half link as adjustment is poor and that clasp is rubbish. It rips the hell out of your finger nail just trying to get it open. I'm afraid the Aquis has it hands down on the bracelet and clasp.
Can you have another video how to adjust or use this rubber trap on this watch please? I am so interested on this watch but i have a small wrist. how small this rubber trap can go? Thanks
Much better than the previous super cluttered , almost unreadable dial which is NOT what you need on a dive watch. Not a big fan of the hour hand but overall, yes I agree , pretty good value for money and , well done!
Nice watch but I prefer my Rado Captain Cook. But I do prefer the green rubber strap on this diver, for some reason my Bronze Captain Cook comes with a green leather strap ridiculous for a Diver of equal depth rating.
I love this watch. Unfortunately I think im one of the people that this won't fit. My worst is about 6inch (a little more) and the lugs of this watch (Longines un general) are pretty long. I haven't tried it yet, but it doesn't seem like it will fit.
I think they have different sizes. At least I have the pre version and I think it has 3-4 different case size options. For me 41 mm works very well and 43mm version are way too much
Im curious what makes the big brands like Longines put that stupid date on 3 o clock and brake the beautifull aesthetics of the watches. Everybody have phone to see their date and time preciselly. Mechanical watches are for us watch entusiasts who enjoy the mechanism and build quallity, looks of the watches. They easy can put 3 index instead that date...
Lol This is funny cuz longines CEO has strong feelings about this "A watch needs a date function" Tbh thou I agree, I use my date fiction on the daily My eyes don't catch the date on my phone even thou it's obviously on home page but I don't know I just don't look for it there That's what my watch is for Time and date
@@kingtut2650 yeah but i prefer with no date to enjoy the watch, otherwise i agree the date function is good overall but ruins the looks of the watch in my opinion!
At least it doesnt have a cyclops, i've always found those disgusting... I'm not fucking blind yo (at least not yet) :D. Anyway, it's the design they went with, luckily there are diver options without date window, wether they are to you liking is ofcourse another matter.
It's rubber actually. Pretty stiff. I have the strap on another Longines. I have allergy to rubber so I get a rash on my wrist from it. At this price they could make it silicone.
You mention bezel action.....and don't showcase it. Then you discuss the clasp....and don't showcase it! Come on Time+Tide, a fantastic quality video and yet missing key elements that were even discussed during the review.
I bought the Longines and am happy with it. Perfect summer watch, swimming and adventures. Have to admit that I am eying an Oris Divers 65 as a more retro alternative.
Having done more research I found out that this watch has a specially developed caliber, or movement with a 64 hour power reserve. That’s great but will it have to be serviced by Longines and will they charge a premium / extra for it versus a regular eta movement? Any independent watchmaker can service an eta or a Sellita movement but if this is a “ special “ movement for this watch they may be the only ones with the spare parts and the know how to service it, resulting in a monopoly on service. There is a lot of money in servicing watches, and by guaranteeing a monopoly on service, well you get the idea....Hopefully it’s not the case. Also on the rubber straps they should have gone pin and buckle, this type of deployment / push- release is not my favourite. It’s hard to get a snug fit , the watch tends to flop down, and you have to keep readjusting it . It’s kinda like wearing a loose bracelet. I would buy it on a stainless steel bracelet, and then source my own rubber strap with pin and buckle or NATO strap.
Lower beat rate means longer service intervals in theory. If you’re worried about servicing costs then get a watch with a standard movement like a Sellita SW200. A good quality movement that is looked after well could go about 10 years these days before servicing.
jason starek There is no black bezel version . You can tell by looking at the video and doing some basic research online . He also describes the colour of the bezel in the video, you obviously were not paying attention....The green dial,, green bezel is the best version, the most original. Buy it on the stainless steel bracelet , the best value and then you can source your own rubber strap or NATO strap. Alternatively there is a black dial , black bezel version ( boring) and a blue dial , blue bezel version , not bad but blue is too intense, and a bit gaudy. The green dial, green bezel version is the best one in my opinion.
Black Dial black bezel, grey dial grey bezel, blue dial blue bezel, in those colours the dials are Sunray. Then the green dial , green bezel, the dial is Matt green. All bezels ceramic. Those are the color choices.
Its just frustrating that in an almost 4 min video, they wont show the clasp of the watch !!!!! I mean are you guys purposefully hiding it, as you wont show the clasp even while describing it.
Plenty other videos describing the showcasing the bracelet and clasp. I’ve checked it out in person and I reckon I could live with it because for the price point , the positives far outweigh the negatives.
I bought this watch in February. Currently it is running 2 mins per month too fast and date skips a day ahead. Crown guards' edges are so sharp that I almost cut my fingers every time I wind it. Very disappointing for a swiss watch. My suggestion - stay away from it.
2 minutes a month is 4 seconds per day. That's outstanding accuracy. I don't like the crown or crown guards either but the style of this watch is interesting. You should keep it. Maybe it will grow on you.
Seiko makes very decent movements. But the movement and build of a standard $200-500 Seiko 5 or SKX isn’t the same as an ETA and build of a Longines. Grand Seiko? yes...much better, actually.
You don’t understand anything , the previous dial was way too cluttered for a dive watch, that’s why they uncluttered it. This also comes in a black dial, and a blue dial if green is not your colour, but once again you don’t understand ,as this is the best version and most original. Go and buy the previous version, or maybe a Hello Kitty watch is more suitable for yourself.
I love this watch. I just purchased it in black and could not be happier. It's definitely the best dive watch at its price.
Absolutely
Longines does great watches for good prices
Had the 43cm green with bracelet for 10 months and love it. Can’t stop staring at it 😃
Are you a giant? 43cm thats crazy..
Got the slate grey version for my dad.. quality watch and ceramic bezel makes a big difference... opted for the rubber strap also ... definitely suits it more than a steel ..
I love how the name of the watch is shown all throughout the video. It aids my bad memory for names.
Also comes in 43mm for the same price, or bracelet versions for same price as well. I love the matched silicone though, looks great.
I purchased it in blue dial, I’ll receive it from my AD in 2 weeks (so exited)
Very beautiful il green too, but I prefer with the steel bracelet
Is the logo on the dial applied?
Really frustrating that you didn’t show the deployment clasp, despite talking about it in detail.

The modified ETA movement that Longines utilizes is a solid movement.

Need footage of the clasp...those clasps are absolute pains to work with getting on over a wet suit sleeve, particularly with neoprene gloves on
I had same problem on the clasp, here i show that point : th-cam.com/video/qnJhtLTgghw/w-d-xo.html

My favourite watch I own and love to wear almost every day apart from wearing Rado Captain Cook
I would have that in no time... Longines nailed it!
Wished they made a ladies version, its to big for my small wrists! Us sporty women also like dive watches too Longines! Great review of the watch.

The Overlord Maybe you should design a dive watch that meets your high standards. I have no doubt it would be just perfect.
Charles Smith Maybe you should get a life, one that’s worth living, that would be just perfect.
Lower beat rate means longer service intervals in theory. If you’re worried about servicing costs then get a watch with a standard movement like a Sellita SW200. A good quality movement that is looked after well could go about 10 years these days before servicing.

what is the lug to lug on these watches
50mm but does not wear like one due to curved lugs. Fits my 6.5 in wrist just fine
21mm lugs though?
I like the look if it but does it still have that Citizen like build quality?
Get a citizen instead.
I don't know what you're talking about.
In person they look nothing like Citizen.
Lost on you. What I meant was that these watches in the past felt like they were very cheaply made.
Ostravia yeah I understand it was a reference to the build quality. Not even close. Go to a dealer and see for yourself. Maybe that was in the past.
