For me the pick is either the Baltic or the Nivada-Grechen. As former military I can attest that field watches should have legibility, wearability, and confort in the field. But the last thing it should have is superior water resistance. I never want to wonder if the WR of my watch is enough for what may lay ahead so 100m has always been my starting point for a field watch and both of these watches fill all those boxes. I know this might be extreme criteria for most folks.
@@Timeandtidewatches Christopher Ward offer COSC certified military style watches under £1k. Particularly without the bracelet. Farer is at the top of my list right now. Absolutely love the look and the fit on the wrist. They deserve more hype for sure. Love the designs and colors.

It’s a tough choice between the Baltic and the Serica for me although if I was going to choose the Baltic, it would definitely have to be that tropical brown dial!
I own a Serica 5303 diver and have swapped out the unique bracelet for one of their sport straps with metal end links. This gives it the look of an integrated rubber strap, which I highly recommend despite the added cost. You can also make this upgrade with the 6190 field watch.

Great video. While watching, I moved to put on my Hamilton field watch. I am looking for a second field watch. I think that the one that Andrew pick will make for a nice departure from the well known brands
